Key points to discuss with your partner or customer
Progress Pacific Key points to discuss with your partner or customer

Having a conversation on Pacific - Rollbase Elevator Pitch
–Why do ISVs or Enterprises chose Rollbase? Allows creation of sophisticated user interfaces, custom business logic, detailed permissions and access control Provides a rich set of APIs for building bidirectional integrations to third party systems Allows you to develop in one browser-based environment with standard JavaScript; no need to learn a proprietary languages Allows you to deploy applications in our hosted environment, on-premise, or in any cloud infrastructure ====> Perhaps the elevator pitch bullets would work here? Allows creation of sophisticated user interfaces, custom business logic, detailed permissions and access control Provides a rich set of APIs for building bidirectional integrations to third party systems Allows you to develop in one browser-based environment with standard JavaScript; no need to learn a proprietary languages Allows you to deploy applications in our hosted environment, on-premise, or in any cloud infrastructure Regarding best profile: a customer who is looking to build a net new data-driven browser-based cloud business application, or rebuild an existing application for the cloud.
19
Having a conversation on Pacific - Rollbase
What is the Ideal Profile? Why Net New? A customer who is looking to build a net new data-driven browser-based cloud business application, or rebuild an existing application for the cloud. Integrating with your OpenEdge app becomes substantially easier over time. Focusing on a new app or module allows your customer or partner to experience the power and speed of deploying a new app and allow the to quickly get to market. In time they can build tighter and tighter integration with their existing OpenEdge application logic Regarding best profile:
20
Having a conversation on Pacific - Rollbase
How can customers get started? How have you seen the progression within accounts from a few users to many users and what typically drives that? Most customers start with a trial version – try building a sample app or building a new app. A good example is Prime in Australia, started with a handful of users and grew to 400 over time as application was successful. Another example is SuccessFactors, now a division of SAP: they just signed up for 10 users with plans to grow to about 200 once they are successful with initial users and their application is complete. Regarding best profile:
21
Having a conversation on Pacific - Rollbase
When and why do they choose public vs private cloud? Most customers start with public to get a sense for the platform and build their initial applications there. Often their first customers run in the public cloud environment. Usually once a customer achieves a certain scale or level of success they move to private cloud to control their own destiny more in terms of: choosing when to do updates to new versions of Rollbase what infrastructure to run on and complete control of that more customization capabilities (write server-side Java and JSPs) fully white label capabilities
22
Existing Rollbase Successes
(public cloud ISV): Used Rollbase to create a PaaS for local and municipal government applications (private cloud ISV): Used Rollbase to create a PaaS for non-profit applications (private cloud ISV): Used Rollbase to create a PaaS for business continuity applications (public cloud direct): mortgage lender in Las Vegas used Rollbase internally to build sophisticated application for 250+ users (private cloud ISV): ISV built integrated suite of Payroll, Employee Benefits and TimeKeeping applications; running entirely on Microsoft Azure cloud (public cloud direct): a law firm in Kazakhstan using public cloud (we have customers everywhere) Foederis (private cloud ISV): ISV in France built HR apps in french that it sells nationally there DMSi (public cloud direct): just signed up for 10 users in public cloud GRATA …more if we need them

OpenEdge BPM and OpenEdge with Corticon July 15, 2013
38
OpenEdge BPM Businesses must… Create process-centric ABL applications to automate workflow and to gain visibility to optimize business processes Businesses need… The ability to model existing “as-is” or future “to-be” business processes To automate workflow for their users To use OpenEdge business logic in process flows To monitor execution of business processes to gain visibility and to optimize their business processes These are universal needs, or at least quickly becoming universal.
39
Ability to Customize with Limited Code Changes
OpenEdge BPM Value Statements Remain Competitive Build competitive applications that meet changing market demands while providing a roadmap for future upgrades and add-on modules for customers (ISV) Unified business process and transaction-oriented execution environments Ability to Customize with Limited Code Changes Build applications for users that are quickly & easily customized for new business logic and workflows (DEU) Lower TCO Less code to develop and fewer mistakes/errors lower costs and provides faster delivery times
40
OpenEdge BPM Situations Where You Are Most Likely To Win
ISVs looking to gain incremental revenue by supplying value- add business processes to their end users Where business processes are currently not well defined, so it is difficult to identify areas for improvement Where processes are volatile over time, and the cost to support process change in the ABL is cost prohibitive (vs. model changes by a Business Analyst) Where the OE application is reasonably modern, i.e. use of the AppServer Could provide motivation to tackle a larger app modernization project

Multi-tenancy Businesses must… Provide cost-effective services to multiple business partners and internal business units from a centralized IT infrastructure. Businesses need to… Scale central data stores to support multiple tenant organizations Authenticate access to secure tenant data Ensure transparent access for tenants to access only their own data Allow cross-tenant data functions to authorized users Manage data integrity & recovery for individual tenants separately
57
Multi-tenancy Easy tenant reporting and maintenance Value Statements
No changes needed to application code Code development is faster and less error-prone due to the database handling all tenant access. Pre-OE11 application code can become multi-tenant code without any changes. Code maintenance costs are reduced. Tenants must authenticate to access their data Tenant data is absolutely secure from access by other tenants. Each tenant’s data is safely stored in its own separate storage area. From each tenant’s perspective, they are the only users. Easy tenant reporting and maintenance Super-tenant has complete command and control. Tenant-aware utilities and tools vastly reduce administrative costs. Perform maintenance on just one tenant or many at once, or on the entire database.
58
Solution Capabilities
Multi-tenancy Business Need Solution Capabilities Benefit Scale central data stores to support multiple tenant organizations Multi-tenancy built into the database No changes needed to application code No tenant-specific coding required, reducing development costs Authenticate access to secure tenant data Ensure transparent access for tenants to access only their own data Tenant authentication is required when connecting to the database Each tenant’s data is stored physically separate from other tenants’ data Once authenticated, all tenant database access is limited to their own data and to globally shared data Allow cross-tenant data functions to authorized users Super-tenant access allows queries and reports that process data for all tenants When necessary, a Super-tenant can temporarily assume an individual tenant’s identity Business owners and SaaS providers can manage individual tenants or multiple tenants together, as needed Manage data integrity and recovery for individual tenants separately, or for the entire database Utilities and tools are tenant-aware Maintenance activities carried out on multiple databases now deal with only one. Maintenance operations on a per-tenant basis or for entire database Reduced maintenance costs New for 11.3: Tenant Data Recovery Index Rebuild per Tenant Provisioning of tenants is in OpenEdge Management, or developers can build a custom interface into their own application using the Multi-tenant API
