2 A Brief History Pablo Picasso was born and raised in Spain.
In Spain, people eat lunch at 2 pm, and dinner at 9-10 pm It is slightly more than twice the size of Oregon. Spain occupies 85% of the Iberian Peninsula In World War I, Spain maintained a position of neutrality. In 1923, Gen. Miguel Primo de Rivera became dictator. In June 2005, despite strong opposition from the Catholic Church, Spain legalized gay marriage. Spain gained independence from the Moors in Granada (The Moors' Last Stronghold) in 1492. Christopher Columbus set sail from Spain in order to find the New World. 94 percent of the population is Roman Catholic. In Spain, the official currency is the euro since January of 2002. In Spain, prescription medications can be obtained "over-the-counter" at pharmacies. Spain has 40,217,413 Inhabitants.

3 Cultural and Religious celebrations
The Three Kings come to Spain (evening and night of January the 5th). In every single town and city of Spain, adults and children celebrate the long expected arrival of the Three Kings from Orient. The streets are taken over by parades of all sorts and the little ones receive sweets and little gifts. The Jerez Flamenco Festival brings Spain's top flamenco singers and dancers. Once in Jerez, check out the Horse Shows – the best Spanish horses are found in the Real Escuela Andaluza del Arte Ecuestre. Also stop by some of the Wineries in Jerez – they offer guided tours and samples. Things quiet down a bit after such a hectic summer. October's biggest day is Día de la Hispanidad (Right), a nationwide fiesta (you'll find no shops open) commemorating Columbus's landing in America.

Breakfast- they drink coffee with their coffee they have certain small eating items such as a sweet roll known as bolos. Other accompaniments to the breakfast drink include Magdalena's and the hot favorite lemon flavored cupcakes along with sugary churros Lunch- Asparagus in Oil & Vinegar, Fish and Shellfish Soup, Roast Lamb, Rioja Wine Sorbet Dinner- Grilled Eggplant in Tomato Vinaigrette, fried potatoes. Rioja-Style Chicken. Desert- almond St. James cake
