6000+ years of history; Ancient modality
Frankincense was a gift to the Magi; more prized than gold and jewels
Clove was highly prized by Chinese emperors during the Han Dynasty, and ordered every high official to chew cloves before consulting with them (hygiene, breath freshener)
During World War I, Australian soldiers used tea tree oil
Hippocrates recognized the beneficial effects of pine needle oil
Used by many cultures – Egyptians, Aztecs, Greeks, Romans, Chinese, Indians, Native American Indians, etc.

Keep out of reach of children and those with dementia/cognitive disorders
Dilute in a carrier before use
Use caution if serious health issues exist; or if pregnant
Do not place EO’s in the eyes – flush with fat soluble solution (not water!)
Citrus oils are phototoxic
Many using topically without carrier, however effects receptor sites beneath the skin, and may cause sensitization over time. Also, oils are fat soluble so need a fat soluble carrier to drive into cell to optimize benefits; Do not teach internally for level I and II classes, education sessions. Need to be a trained professional. Internal use has been linked with esophageal and intestinal lining erosion.
