2 Water Shortages are critical

3 As of November 2016, the City of Cape Town is under Level 3 water restrictions.

4 Dams are at dangerously low levels and are at risk of falling to 15% by end of the summer.

5 We have a collective responsibility to save water!

6 If you are responsible for the management of public urinals in your school, institution or public building, you are in the position to help reduce water consumption.

7 BUT HOW?

8 The average urinal flush uses around 2ℓ of water each time it is used.

9 One way to reduce water consumption is to reduce the waterflow to the cistern, flushing only every few hours…

10 Another way is to reduce waterflow to the urinals themselves…

11 BUT controlling the flush is a hidden disaster waiting to happen!

12 When you restrict the water, here’s what happens:
This is why: When the mixture of urine and water is static in the S-Bend, the uric acid salts in the urine and the lime-scale in the water crystallize to form hard residues.

13 When you restrict the water, here’s what happens:
Over time, this severely blocks the outflow pipes.

14 When you restrict the water, here’s what happens:
A soft sludge forms. Mixed with debris, such as hair, it forms a “hedgehog” which causes blockages and bad smells.

15 Reducing the waterflow creates a much bigger problem that could cost thousands in the long term!

16 SO WHAT IS THE SOLUTION?

17 Fit your public washrooms with Sannitree’s Waterless Freeflowing Urinal Valve

18 This simple, water- free system could potentially save you millions of litres of water each year

19 Here’s how this simple system works:
Urine drains from the bowl into the Freeflowing Valve. It enters the patented airtight seal, flowing into the water pipe. The urine simply flushes away without the need for water, eradicating bad smells and limescale.

20 What makes our product so effective is its simplicity:

21 When you restrict the water, here’s what happens:
Most water-free systems require costly installation and ongoing maintenance. The Free-Flowing waterless urinal valve is simple to fit / retrofit and maintain. It is easy to clean, completely chemical free and eco-friendly.

22 When you restrict the water, here’s what happens:
There is an immediate cost saving, as the unit requires no plumbing or flush devices such as buttons or lights, and the maintenance routine is simple, quick and touch free.

23 When you restrict the water, here’s what happens:
The unit itself is extremely low cost and replacement is only required every 6 months (and could last even longer, depending on traffic)

24 Just how easy is it to convert an existing system to waterless?

25 Remove the existing trap and insert the valve and trap
(included in the ‘Conversion Kit’)

26 Turn off the water…

27 …and forget about blocked pipes, smelly toilets, floods or replacing expensive pipes.

28 The benefits for converting speak for themselves…

29 No water = No floods No soft sludge in pipes = No blockages Improved hygiene - No water = no bacteria = no smell Easier to clean - only mild soapy water and a bucket of clean water No overall maintenance - replacement valve is easy to replace and is recommended every 6 months, but valves may last longer depending on traffic

30 …and when you install a waterless system from the outset, there are major cost- saving benefits too:

31 No water supply pipes (just the outflow pipe)
No cistern or down-pipes to install or maintain No electrics for the flush control systems No need to use expensive purpose built urinals just convert a standard urinal Just wash down regularly with a bucket and clean water No difficult installation – it really is easy!

32 Our Freeflowing valves are fitted in 100s of buildings around the world with happy clients including the GrowthPoint portfolio of properties, Kirstenbosch Gardens and the Vineyard Hotel in Claremont.
