20 PEDESTRIAN Action Plan Pedestrian issues at Cypress/Market/Pine area
(Further Studies Required) Pedestrian issues at Cypress/Market/Pine area

21 BICYCLE Action Plan GOAL 6:

(Further Studies Required) Two-way protected bike lanes along California Street (South of Placer Street). PIX 12

25 GREEN STREETS Action Plan
GOAL 7: Implement low impact development practices to environmentally “Green” Downtown.

26 GREEN STREETS Action Plan
Bio-swales in “park” areas Rain gardens (flow through planters) Permeable paving

27 POLICY Action Recommendations
VMT vs. LOS. Emphasize pedestrian oriented features. Update parking garage recommendations. 25 MPH signal timing. Parklet program. City shouldn’t take over State highways. Modernize parking management. Comprehensive parking management program. Parking garage financing plan.

28 COSTS $73.5 million in estimated costs!
FUNDING ALREADY SECURED since starting the transportation plan studies: 2015 Diestelhorst to Downtown ATP Grant ($2.6 million). 2016 City/K2 Development AHSC Grant ($20 million).

29 EDITS FOR FINAL REPORT TO COUNCIL
State highway relinquishment – add supporting discussion (Caltrans). Add to the discussion regarding changing the traffic signal coordination, the fact that reduced vehicle speeds will reduce the severity of collision related injuries (Caltrans). Indicate that additional studies to implement protected bike lane on Pine Street will be required (Caltrans). A typo in the “Community Stakeholder Meetings” section will be corrected to list “Ride Redding” instead of “Bike Redding” (Ride Redding). Add footnote to Figure 6 indicating that the figure does not show the protected bike lane recommended elsewhere in the report (Caltrans). Add footnote to Figure 7 indicating that additional studies will be required to make changes to state highways (Caltrans).
