17. FOUNDATION in a nutshell!!
Four Funds
ANNUAL PROGRAMS FUND
All money invested for 3 yrs then ‘shared’ equally by District and the World Fund
WORLD
FUND
Used to match money from Districts and clubs to undertake projects
ENDOWMENT
FUND
Money, often from wills or donors, invested to ensure long term viability of the Foundation
POLIOPLUS FUND
Exclusively for the polio program, still Rotary’s major aim.

18. Money is donated by clubs and members into the Annual Programs Fund
Money is donated by clubs and members into the Annual Programs Fund. It is invested for 3 years. (Interest is used to run the Foundation . )
After 3 years:
Half comes back to the District
(Called the District Dedicated Fund or DDF)
Half goes into the World Fund
Projects organised by clubs and Districts using Global grants match DDF money dollar for dollar from the World Fund, and club and outside money 50c in the dollar from the World Fund.
Half of this can be used for District Grants
Half of this can be used for Global Grants

20. APPLYING FOR GRANTS DISTRICT GRANTS- perhaps AU$4,000
Make sure your club qualifies - form on District website in Documents library
Apply by the end of October - see application form and Memorandum of Understanding - in DL>
Ask Foundation Chair PDG Jo Wilkin or Grants Chair PDG Ken Hall to speak to your club.

21. GLOBAL GRANTS- more than US$30,000 (AU$40,000)
Needs an International partner
Can use money from the DDF which will be matched with money from the World Fund.
Can apply any time directly to TRF online, but Please contact the District committee first, especially if you will be applying for some of our District Dedicated Fund.

Budget of US$30, equipment $20,600; transport $1,400; Travel $3,500; Accom & Training $4,500
Club $ WF Match $2,000
DDF $12,000 WF Match $12,000
Total $30, See how much could be achieved with a club input of only $4000

Enter your club’s Foundation goals for onto the RI website
Consider a Foundation project and apply for a grant

Let’s also strengthen our commitment to our charity, the Rotary Foundation in this Centenary year.
To date, with only 2 months before the end of this Rotary year , our clubs have contributed only $46, to the Annual Programs Fund.
