3 SOUTH PACIFIC & PHILLIPINES OFFICE The Rotary Foundation has a new grant structure, based on its Vision Plan, that is now available to all clubs and District committees. So Clubs should appoint a committee member as the Rotary Foundation liaison officer. 11 Clubs submitted and received grants in 2015; Tamworth club was successful for the High School gardens in the amount of $3600 AUD We can apply for Rotary Foundation Global Grants online at any time We can attend webinars online Preparing District Clubs for Rotary Foundation Grants in 2015_16

6 Grant types District grants District grants fund smaller, short- term activities that address needs in both your local community and communities worldwide. Each district gets to choose which activities it will fund with these grants. We have just received $33494; this year’s allocation of District grants from funds raised three years ago

7 SOUTH PACIFIC & PHILLIPINES OFFICE Grant types Global grants Global grants support large international activities with sustainable, measurable outcomes in one or more of the six areas of focus. Minimum amount of grant is $30,000US and applications are online. Port Macquarie are looking at a Global grant for Nepal; Coffs Harbour with a clean water project in Kiribati; Tamworth for sanitary toilets for girls in India

These are held each year in the District and are compulsory to obtain grants To prepare for training, you could attend Rotary Foundation grant webinars for clubs and complete the following e-learning modules: webinars Future Vision: An Overview Grant Management Foundation Funding Choosing a Grant Areas of Focus: An Overview Read and agree to the committee MOU, and return it to your district. Meet additional district requirements.

12 SOUTH PACIFIC & PHILLIPINES OFFICE 2014-15 Foundation Goals 1. Eradicate polio, our top priority; 2. Build a sense of ownership of our Foundation among Rotarians through their contributions to the Annual Programs Fund, the Permanent Fund, and our Rotary Peace Centres; 3. Continue our progress on the Vision plan and align our service projects with the six areas of focus: Peace and conflict prevention/resolution Disease prevention and treatment Water and sanitation Maternal and child health Basic education and literacy Economic and community development

16 We continue to receive great support from Clubs and Districts, from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and from Governments but there is much still to do. Rotary’s US$200 Million Challenge

19 It is safe to say that polio eradication would not be possible without the contribution of women. This International Women’s Day, the theme is ‘Make It Happen: encouraging effective action for advancing and recognising women’. Women in polio eradication vaccinate children on the frontline, implement strong surveillance and data analysis systems, provide technical and scientific support to governments, and mobilize communities.
