1 A Diversity & Cross Cultural Awareness Training Session
The Northern Football League in partnership with AFL Victoria and the AFL Multicultural Program invites representatives from affiliated clubs of the NFL and Yarra Junior Football League to attend A Diversity & Cross Cultural Awareness Training Session The session will provide greater awareness of practices to attract diverse population groups to participate in football as the Northern Football League continues to engage with multicultural Australia. When: Monday 28th May Where: Streeton Room, The Centre, 275 Upper Heidelberg Rd Ivanhoe Time: 6.30pm – 8.30pm Tea, Coffee and Refreshments available on the night Benefits of culturally aware & inclusive clubs include: Help to attract and retain participants and volunteers Gives the club access to a whole new talent pool with abilities & skills that teams and existing players can benefit from Create a positive image of your club and assist with public relations & attracting sponsorship Ensures everyone feels respected and valued, regardless of their ability, cultural background or religion Each Senior and Junior club is required to have a minimum of three representatives in attendance Club Presidents, Committee Members, Coaches as well as League Umpires are invited to attend Clubs with three or more attendees will receive 15 complimentary tickets to a selected AFL game RSVP to the NFL on or by Monday 19th May, Presenters: Carmel Guerra, Director Centre for Multicultural Youth Issues Maria Dimopolous, Managing Director MyriaD Consultants
