3. Medical / Dental Colleges’ Admission Test to be held on
Sunday, 20th August, 2017
The University of Health Sciences (UHS) Lahore shall conduct the test on behalf of the Government of the Punjab.
The test shall start
at 09:00 A.M. sharp. 3

4. According to the Regulations of Pakistan Medical and Dental Council, it is MANDATORY for Punjab domiciled candidates to appear in the Admission Test for admission to MBBS/BDS in any Public or Private Medical / Dental Institution of Punjab. 4

5. WEIGHTAGE FORMULA
According to the Regulations of Pakistan Medical and Dental Council, the merit of an applicant shall be worked out by adding the marks in following ratio:
Matriculation (SSC) / Equivalent – %
Intermediate (Pre-Medical)/Equivalent – %
Admission Test – % 5

6. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
At least 60% (660/1100) marks in FSc (Pre-Medical) or equivalent examination. Those awaiting result can also apply. 6

7. Those having domicile of Punjab and Islamabad (ICT).
WHO CAN APPLY
Those having domicile of Punjab and Islamabad (ICT).
Candidates of Gilgit-Baltistan.
Foreigners / Overseas/ Dual Nationals if they have not passed SAT II/American MCAT. 7

8. Candidates of other provinces

9. AGE LIMIT AND NUMBER OF CHANCES
As per PMDC regulations , there is NO AGE LIMIT for admission to medical / dental institutions.
Provincial Admission Test is held once a year. Test result is valid for one year only. 9

11. FORMAT OF ADMISSION TEST
One paper containing 220 MCQs – four options with single best answer – divided into Four Sections, namely:
Biology (88 MCQs)
Chemistry (58 MCQs)
Physics (44 MCQs)
English (30 MCQs) 11

12. SYLLABUS OF ADMISSION TEST
The syllabus of Admission Test 2017 is available on UHS website: It has been revised to incorporate changes in the textbooks.
The candidates are required to prepare for the Admission Test from their respective Textbooks according to the prescribed syllabus. 12

13. DURATION & MARKS OF ADMISSION TEST
The duration of Test shall be 150 minutes (2½ Hrs.)
Each questions carries Five (05) Marks. The total marks of the test shall be 1100.
There shall be Negative Marking in the test. For each correct answer, five (05) marks will be awarded and for each incorrect answer, one (01) mark will be deducted from the total score. There shall be no deduction on not attempting a question. 13

14. PASS MARKS
According to PMDC Regulations, there shall be NO PASS MARKS in the Admission Test. No candidate shall be declared Pass or Fail. Instead, total marks obtained by a candidate shall be declared. 14

15. HOW TO APPLY
The MDCAT 2017 applications shall be filled online. The candidate needs not to go anywhere to get the application form. 15

16. HOW TO APPLY
Just login at UHSMDCAT2017. On clicking the “Register” button, a simple Application Form will appear which the candidate is required to fill.

17. HOW TO APPLY
After filling his/her particulars, the candidate will be asked to upload his/her latest colour photograph (not more than 2MB file). After this the candidate can “Submit” his/her application by clicking the ‘Submit’ button.

18. HOW TO APPLY
It must be noted that the candidate cannot edit his/her application once it has been submitted. On a single CNIC/B-Form Number, only one application can be submitted.

19. HOW TO APPLY
Upon successful submission of application, the candidate will be assigned a “Unique Application Serial Number”. He/she should note that number as it will be used in future for accessing the submitted application and the Admittance Card issued by the University.

20. HOW TO APPLY
The candidate should get a print of the filled application form by clicking “Download & Print” button. If the facility of printing is not available at that time, the candidate can access his/her application any other time by clicking “Search Registration” button.

22. HOW TO APPLY
The candidate or his/her nominee is required to visit alongwith his/her printed application, the nearest branch of BankIslami (Pvt) Ltd, for fee submission.
On submission of Rs.500/- (in cash) as MDCAT 2017 fee, the concerned bank officer shall stamp the application form and return the “Candidate’s Copy” of the form to the candidate.

23. HOW TO APPLY
No document (e.g., result cards, domicile, etc.) is required with the application.

24. HOW TO APPLY
After fee submission, the candidate shall be communicated his/her Roll Number and Examination Centre via SMS and Alerts at his/her mobile number and address within 72 hours.

25. HOW TO APPLY
The Admittance Card of the candidate with his/her photograph and unique QR Code shall be sent on his/her address as an attachment.

26. HOW TO APPLY
The candidate can also download his/her Admittance Card on clicking “Search Admittance Card” button on the weblink after entering his/her “Unique Application Serial Number”.

27. ADMISSION TEST FEE
Actual expenditure on the conduct of Admission Test is more than Rs. 1000/- per candidate.
However, on the direction of Chief Minister Punjab, Rs. 500/- will be charged from each candidate who will appear in the Admission Test.
Punjab Govt. will bear rest of the expenses.

28. CHOICE OF CITY FOR THE TEST
The candidate can select one out of 13 cities from where he/she wishes to appear in the Admission Test.

29. SCHEDULE OF MDCAT 2017 REGISTRATION
The candidates can register online for MDCAT from 10th July to 28th July, The registration will be closed after 04:00 pm on 28th July, 2017.

30. SCHEDULE OF MDCAT 2017 REGISTRATION
For submission of application form and fee for MDCAT-2017, the collection services shall be available at the counters of BankIslami (Pvt) Ltd branches all over Pakistan from 10th July to 28th July, 2017 (excluding Saturdays and Sundays), 09:00 am to 04:00 pm.

33. VERY IMPORTANT
The Mobile Numbers and address provided in the online Application Form should be entered correctly and they should be functional in all ways as the SMS and alerts regarding allotted Roll Numbers and Examination Centres shall be sent to these mobile numbers and addresses.

34. ON THE DAY OF THE ADMISSION TEST
Admission Test will start exactly at 09:00 A.M. on Sunday, 20th August, 2017.
Candidates should reach their respective centres at 08:00 A.M. i.e., at-least one hour before the commencement of the test.
Examination Centres will be sealed/closed at 08:15 A.M. No candidate will be allowed to enter the Examination Centre after 08:15 A.M. 34

The candidates must bring the following three documents with them on the test day without which they will NOT be allowed to sit the test:

(i) A clean, hard Clip Board without any marks or written material
(ii) Two or three good quality Blue ball point pens
(Not Pencils , Pointers or Markers)

Weapons/Arms
Penalty : Immediate removal of the candidate from the centre with cancellation of paper. 37

38. BEFORE ATTEMPTING THE TEST
After closing the centres, supervisory staff will distribute the MCQ Response Forms among the candidates.
Carefully read the instructions printed on the MCQ Response Form and accordingly fill your Roll Number, enter your particulars and put your signatures on the MCQ Response form. 38

45. QUESTION PAPER ID (VERY IMPORTANT)
There shall be Question Papers with different colour codes in which the questions and their responses are shuffled.
The Question Paper code of each candidate will be defined by a Question ID (Q-ID) which would be the First Question and that shall be COMPULSORY for every candidate to answer. 45

46. QUESTION PAPER ID (VERY IMPORTANT)
The correct answer to the first question (Q-ID) shall be given in bold, underlined and highlighted for the convenience of the candidate. You are only required to fill the correct circle in the MCQ Response Form against the first row of circles marked as ID. 46

48. Failure to fill the ID properly as per the instructions shall lead to incorrect evaluation of the Response Form for which the University shall not be responsible.

Each question will have four (04) responses (answers). You must select the single best answer and fill the relevant circle completely on the MCQ Response Form. 49

51. HOW TO MARK YOUR ANSWERS
Use Blue ball point only to fill the appropriate circle.
Fill only one circle for each entry.
Don’t mark answers on the Question Paper.

Answers marked with pencils or markers would NOT be evaluated
A lightly, faintly or incompletely darkened circle will be treated as a wrong method marking and will be rejected.
Use of eraser or white fluid on the Response Form is NOT permissible.

53. HOW TO MARK YOUR ANSWERS
To fill more than one circle for a single question shall be treated as a wrong answer and will be negatively marked.

One candidate shall be issued only one MCQ Response Form, which shall be BAR CODED for each candidate and CANNOT be changed. 55

56. ROUGH WORK
All rough work must be done at the end on the Blank Last Page of Question Paper (Not on the MCQ Response Form). 56

57. AT THE END OF EXAMINATION
When the Invigilator says “STOP”, the candidates should stop writing and turn over their response forms and Question Papers.
The invigilator will ask the candidates to detach the upper and lower sheets of their Response Forms very carefully. 57

58. AT THE END OF EXAMINATION
The upper, coloured sheet of the Response Form, and the question paper are to be returned to invigilation staff, separately. 58

60. Failure to return the Question Paper or the upper sheet of MCQ Response Form to the Invigilation staff will lead to automatic disqualification of the candidate. 60

61. The lower black and white sheet of the Response Form will be retained by the candidate.
Please remain seated till all the Response Forms and the Question Papers have been collected. 61

62. The candidate shall register his/her attendance twice during the test:
First, at the beginning of the test.
Second, at the time of handing over Question Paper to the invigilator when the test is over. 62

63. APTITUDE AND FEED BACK
At the end of the Test, the candidates are required to fill the Feed back Response Form for Aptitude / Feed back Question Paper. Extra time will be given for that paper.
Aptitude / Feed back is Not part of the evaluation process and it will have no weightage in the Entrance Test Score. It only helps the University in research and to improve its services in future. 63

64. SELF-SCORING SYSTEM (SSS)
The candidate shall take the lower, black and white sheet of the Response Form with him/her.
UHS will display the answer keys of all question papers with different colour codes on its website as soon as possible. The keys will also be published in all major national dailies. 64

65. Candidates can calculate scores from their carbon copy of Response Form with the help of concerned key.
UHS will declare the official result of Admission Test as soon as possible (usually within a week). 65

66. ADMISSION TEST RESULT
The Admission Test Official Result will be available on its website ( You can print your result after entering your roll number. UHS will not dispatch formal result cards to any candidate. 66

67. COMPLAINTS
If you wish to query a particular question on the day of the test submit a written note to the Superintendent before you leave the centre. No complaint in this regard will be entertained thereafter.
Complaint, if any, against the result of Admission Test may be lodged to UHS within 15 days of the declaration of official result of the test. No complaint will be entertained before or after that. 67

68. DON’TS OF ADMISSION TEST
Don’t fold or tear the response form.
Don’t put unnecessary marks/identification marks on your Response Form.
Don’t detach the two sheets of Response Form before the test is over.
Don’t take upper coloured sheet of Response Form with you after the test otherwise you will be disqualified. 68

69. Don’t attempt to remove a leaf or a part of question paper.
Don’t try to cheat. MCQs and their responses are shuffled in each question paper. .
Don’t try to exchange your question paper or response form with some other candidate. .
Don’t try by any means to duplicate, record, or copy test content. 69

70. Don’t mark answers on the question paper.
Don’t forget to fill your Question ID on the Response Form. .
Don’t leave your seat until you are allowed. .
Don’t create disruption of any kind in the Examination Centre. 70

71. DO’S OF ADMISSION TEST
Do have a good night sleep before Admission Test.
Do have a good breakfast in the morning before heading towards the Test Centre.
Do remember to bring your Admittance Card, duly stamped “Candidate’s Copy” of the Application Form and Original CNIC/B-Form
Do bring two or three good quality blue ball point pens with you. 71

72. DO’S OF ADMISSION TEST
Do remember to count the pages of your Question Paper before you start your test. If a page or some text is missing, get a new paper of same colour from your invigilator before the start of the test.

73. The admission process for the session 2017-18 will start in October.
Only those Punjab and Islamabad-domiciled candidates who will score at least 84 per cent aggregate score as per PMDC formula of will be eligible to apply against open merit seats. 73

74. ADMISSION PROCESS
UHS will carry out admissions against Open Merit Seats (3022 MBBS BDS), Under Developed Districts Seats (49 MBBS + 12 BDS), Disabled Students Seats (19 MBBS + 01 BDS), Cholistan’s Seat (01 MBBS), Children of Overseas Pakistanis/Dual Nationality Holders (72 MBBS + 04 BDS) and Reciprocal (Interprovincial) Seats (14 MBBS).

75. ADMISSION PROCESS
Admission against AJK, Baluchistan, Gilgit Baltistan and FATA seats will be carried out by their respective governments and Nomination Boards.

76. ADMISSION PROCESS
Admission of Foreign Students shall be carried out by Economic Affairs Division Islamabad.
