4. How Do I Earn a Credit?
A student earns a credit when he or she successfully completes a course by earning a minimum grade of 70 and being in attendance 90% of the time.
Students earn a half credit for each successfully completed semester class.
Students must earn a particular number of credits to be promoted to the next grade and to graduate.
If you fail a class required for graduation,
you must take it over again until you pass it!

Remember:
Pre-AP courses go into more depth than other courses
Student may need to work harder
Student may need to spend more time preparing
Overall grades may go down because course is more rigorous
Student will get weighted grade points to raise Grade Point Average (G.P.A.)
Summer reading may be required in some courses
Student will be more prepared for Advanced Placement (AP) courses
Student will be more prepared for college
Talk to your parents and teachers to determine if PAP/AP is right for you

Choose courses (7 credits)
Close window and your courses are saved

59. Reminders Make sure you have chosen a CAREER Focus Choose your goals
Make sure you have signed up for SEVEN (7) credits
Parents will need to sign their names on the Four Year Plan/ PGP
Parents need to sign AP Contract if you are taking an AP or PAP class
Talk with your core / elective teachers about courses to take.
Choose alternate courses in case scheduling conflicts occur or the course does not make. Write these in the spaces.
If you re going to participate in athletics, you will have to have a physical.
The Course Selection sheet and Four Year Plan /PGP sheet is due to your SCIENCE teacher on Wednesday, February 8th !
