5 Population distribution – where people live , varies across the country, and within provinces and territories. Why do people live where they do? Why do some provinces have many people while others don’t? Why do some areas of provinces have more people than others?

8 Dispersed means being spread out over a larger area. (low)
Where are the concentrated populations of people versus the dispersed populations of people? Concentrated means large numbers of people occupying smaller areas. (high density) Dispersed means being spread out over a larger area. (low) Which population is dispersed? Which population is concentrated?

9 In Canada, people are generally situated along the border with the United States. Why?
There are many reasons why people are attracted to settle or move to an area. These include: 1. Historical Reasons - people came to specific areas for hunting, fishing, gathering of food and furs, etc. 2. Good Soil – for agriculture and trading centers. 3. Moderate Climate: Not too hot and not too cold. Moderate and warm climates attract people.

Trade Links – with the United States, it has a large population/markets. 8. Employment – people go where the jobs are. 9. Services – stores, health, education and recreational activities.
