Term of study - 5 years of bachelor + 2 years of internship
Graduating student completed one’s training qualifies of higher education with certification “a doctor” and certificate of completion of internship with independent admission to practice as general practitioner or sanitary engineer – epidemiologist.
Professional activity subjects of students are:
- Delivery of knowledgeable health care for adult and childhood population by frequent disease of internals

15. International collaborations
Semey State Medical University holds two international agreements with the higher institutions of the foreign countries: With the medical faculty of the university of Nagasaki (Japan) and Antwerp city in Belgium, with the Houston Medical Center (Texas- USA) and the center for the preparation of residents in Tulsa Oklahoma- USA).
Semey State Medical University is cooperating with the European Bank of reconstruction development, “Source- Kazakhstan”-fund and the Japanese Development Fund, Manav Bharti University (India), Smile Orange Ltd (Spain), Santosh University (India), Sharda University (India), Kharkov National Medical University (Ukraine), Slovak Medical University (Slovak Republic) and others.

16. The University implements 17 programs of international collaboration based on the agreements signed with the international universities, 1 targeted research program and 2 scientific grants. The project of targeted research program «Developing the science- based technologies to decrease the medical, social and psychological consequences of ionizing radiation and non- radiation risk factors in the population of Kazakhstan» is prepared and submitted to the Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan with the overall budget 771 million tenge.

17. The library’s fund has over copies of literature including abstracts of medical dissertations, journals, more than 200 titles of periodic editions nowadays.
The library represents the largest storehouse of medical literature in North and East regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

18. publishing Activities
To motivate the students, the additional living allowance is paid to those who study in English and to the students of non-Kazakh origin who study in Kazakh. The awards are distributed between the students who are recognized as «the best group» or «the best student», between the champions or the award-winners of the world, international and national sports competitions. The stipend of Nagasaki University is practiced and the students’ trips to the national or international scientific events are covered
The students’ self-governance committee, the council of parents and the alliance of Kazakhstan Students are being very active. Youth’s initiatives are presented in 2 debate clubs and «Innovation» initiative. Five culture units are established to promote the ethical and moral values. The schools of leadership, public health and nursing help to develop the leader’s qualities and the communication skills. The social support to the students is provided by the Men’ and the Ladies’ Councils, «Kindness charity» and psychology service.

19. Active work in the cross- section of the academy is being carried out by the youth Committee, the main aim of which is to defend student's interests. The committee carries its work in teaching & Educational, living conditions, cultural works, sports & health orienting directions. Every year the best student, best study group and best hostel competitions are held in the University.
