Did you know than the taxis in U.K. are black and they are called “Hackney carriages? But they are known as Black cabs!

4 Did you know that the London Bus is one of London ‘s principal icons the archetypal red rearentranced bus is recognised world wide! The red double- decker bus is a symbol of the city of London!

5 The national flower of Northern Ireland is the shamrock a three-leaved plant. An Irish tale tells that st Patrick used the three-leaved plant to explain the Holy Trinity. He used it in his sermons to represent how the father, the son and the Holy Spirit could all exist as separate elements of the same entity.

6 The national flower of Scotland is the thistle, a prickly leaved purple flower which was first used in the 15th century as a symbol of defence.

13 BRITISH TRADITIONAL FOOD!
British food has traditionally been based on beef, lamb, pork, chicken and fish. They are served with potatoes and other vegetables. The most common and typical foods eaten in Britain include: sandwich, fish and chips, pies, trifle and other mostly roast dinners.

And don’t forget: Tea time! Everyday, British people have their tea with small SCONES at 4 o’clock in the afternoon! P.S. Scones are small cookies!

19 Why do the Brits drive on the left?
Driving on the left hand side of the road is a habit that goes back hundreds of years! People used to carry swords when traveling. As around 85-90% of humans are right-handed, it would be easier for them to travel on the left side of the road, because they would be able to attack the enemy with their right hand. In 1835 it became a law. Horse riders, carriages and cars later should drive on the left side of the road! P.S. Brits are the British people!!!
