6 What is a LIFER? Someone under life sentence for a crime
Someone who lives life with real passion Someone possessed by the Holy Spirit

7 Only God gives life And the LORD God commanded the man, "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.” (Genesis 2:16-17) You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me, yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life. (John 5:39-40) Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that comes from the mount of God. (Matt.4:4) And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. (1John 5:11-12)

12 SUBSTITUTION + IMPUTATION JUSTIFICATION
What is the result of Jesus’s obedience being legally accepted as mine? SUBSTITUTION + IMPUTATION JUSTIFICATION Jesus Sinners Declared guilty Declared righteous

13 But my heart is still sinful
Your record and your heart are two very different things! God justifies SINNERS Declares righteous ‘And to the one who does not work but trusts him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness.’ (Romans 4:5)

14 To possess the life of God is to have Jesus (and his obedience)
How can anyone be righteousness enough for God? My heart is still sinful. Romans 1:16-17 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, ‘The righteous shall live by faith.’ Still a sinner, but reckoned righteous!

15 How do I receive Jesus and his righteousness?
“For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.” John 6:40

16 L I F E R God, through Jesus, gives his people...
