1 E Safety – Managing your online presence

2 Learning Intentions – “I Can”
I understand that the internet is a public space and that all content online can be shared (including snap chat) I know that my actions online are traceable and that I am not anonymous online. I appreciate that future employers, colleges and friends will make judgments about me based on my Digital Footprint

3 Managing your online presence
Many young people don’t think about the long term impacts of their actions online. Universities, Employers and Colleges will search online to try and find more out about you. How do you appear online?

4 How to market yourself Traditional Digital Social
People will be looking at you over a very short space of time and will need to make a judgement about the sort of person that you are. Traditional Digital Social

5 Permanent and forever There is no way to guarantee removal of any content from an internet source. Once a post is online you loose control over where it goes and who can see it.

6 Use your online presence to your advantage
Make sure that you public appearance is one which you want other people to see. Make it so that any publicly available information Shows people what you have done and supports anything written in your statement or something you have said at interview.

7 Who are you associated with?
What is just as important as what you have said is to also think about who you are following. Who you follow may be taken as what type of person you are.

(be sure to use your full name) Follow and share posts/tweets from reliable sources that help build your image Deliberately post comments which demonstrate your… intellect/ ability to work hard/ demonstrate something interesting you have done After Several tweets you will find that your account appears at the top of a web search.
