2 Layout of your writing - Reports
Needs to have a heading Make it clear who has produced it and for whom. Proposal to organise a charity event at Calthorpe Park School Produced by year 11 students for the governing body Some sub headings Proposed charities . Proposed date Cost You might use some bullet points The majority of the report will be in formal and carefully constructed sentences and paragraphs

3 Leaflets and factsheets
You can write in columns but it is not necessary subheading Heading Use bullet points but don’t overuse them Represent a picture with a word of two in an empty box Picture of a key .

4 Letters Salutation Dear Sirs, (finishes Yours faithfully) Address
Dear Mr Smith, (finishes Yours sincerely,) Address Your name and position Re: Explain what it is regarding

5 Writing to persuade task:
You have been asked to give a talk to your class on either the benefits or disadvantages of mobile telephones. The title of your talk is ‘Mobile telephones – are they a blessing or a curse to modern society? Write what you would say. Remember that you are trying to persuade your listeners to agree with your views.
