15 Summary of Recent Executive Orders
Between January 20, 2017 and February 9, 2017, President Donald Trump released 10 Executive Orders to the American people. Each of the Executive Orders have the potential of having various effects on individual citizens and entire groups of people and national interests. The outcome of the publication of the orders and their subsequent execution has evoke anxiety, fear, unrest and anger from some individuals in the United States and across the globe.

19 Proposed New Immigration Focused Executive Order
Projected for release this week. The new order, according to a draft obtained by the Associated Press, would focus on the same seven countries — Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen —  but would only bar entry to those without a visa and who have never entered the United States before. Unlike the original order, people from those countries who already have permanent U.S. residency (green cards) or visas would not face any restrictions. –USA Today

26 UWM Discriminatory Conduct Policy (Including Sexual Harassment and Sexual Violence)
“UWM is committed to building and maintaining a campus environment that recognizes the inherent worth and dignity of every person, fosters tolerance, sensitivity, understanding, and mutual respect, and encourages the members of its community to strive to reach their full potential. UWM remains steadfastly committed to the principles of academic freedom and to the ideal that the “fearless sifting and winnowing by which alone the truth can be found” is the core feature of an institution of higher education. This steadfast commitment requires an equally strong obligation to foster respect for the dignity and worth of each person. Without this respect, the principles of academic freedom become meaningless.” September 2016 (Revised).

27 Sexual Assault Prevention and Response
Chancellor’s Task Force on Sexual Violence Prevention, Reporting, and Response Identify barriers, challenges, and gaps in the prevention of, reporting of, and response to sexual violence, and develop recommendations for effectively addressing campus needs in these areas. Continue to evaluate existing policies, practices, infrastructure, and culture to reduce incidents of sexual violence, while complying fully with Title IX, Clery Act, Campys SaVE Act, and other relevant federal/state/local/UWS and UWM regulations. Foster both internal and external partnerships that create a coordinated response to sexual violence; promote a climate of safety and awareness; and monitor incidents of sexual violence for students, faculty, and staff. Explore best practices, make recommendations, and propose a plan for the implementation of said recommendations to enhance support and services for victims and survivors, and engage stakeholders in accountability to, and assessment in, recommended areas.

28 Hate/Bias Reporting “UWM prohibits and does not tolerate discrimination, harassment or retaliation…” “Any encouragement of others to discriminate, harass, or retaliate also violates this policy.” Report:
