What is different this year?
BEHAVIOUR FOR LEARNING What is different this year? Rewards Dare Points and Effort Awards Praise postcards and Subject prizes Sanctions Continuous poor behaviour will be sanctioned by the class teacher and recorded in SIMS If things don’t improve this issue will be passed to the Head of Department The final stage, without improvement, the HoH/Y will become involved and a school detention may be issued Friday detentions are a final and very serious sanction following which students will be placed on report for a week and parents involved in discussions

Support Academic Talk to your teachers Use exam papers and mark schemes (these can be accessed online) Basic organisation – files, work & revision timetables, which include breaks, sport Use the LRC’s resources e.g. study skills sheets Top Tips for Parents (guide available in the curriculum area on the website)

One in four British adults experience at least 1 diagnosable mental health problem in a year with a staggering three quarters of all adult mental health problems starting before the age of 18.

Expectations and Mental Health
Last year we had a whole school focus on raising awareness about mental health. This included input on the following: Depression Anxiety and Stress Eating disorders and OCD Self Harm We know that high flying students often feel under pressure to achieve and to please. Sometimes they can feel they do not live up to expectations and we are seeing more boys seek help within school. There is a lot of support we can offer in school for struggling students
