50 How Can Work Orders Benefit My Company?
Work orders may be projects, PMs or any type of work and may be a simple or detailed as needed. Work orders are typically one or more sheets of paper per job. You may define Priority, Type and Status fields. There are 8 different work order formats to choose from.

51 How Can Work Orders Benefit My Company?
Work orders may be manually or automatically created. Simple input view shown below. Manually create work orders or set MaintSmart to automatically create work orders based upon equipment requirements.

52 How Can Work Orders Benefit My Company?
Normal work order input view. Manually create work orders or set MaintSmart to automatically create work orders based upon equipment requirements.

53 How Can Work Orders Benefit My Company?
Work orders may be for ‘in-house’ or contractor work. Work orders may be assigned and performed in-house or use work order to describe and contractor work.

54 How Can Work Orders Benefit My Company?
Enter up to 2 GB of text details for each work order. Unlimited space for detailed instructions or safety instructions.

55 How Can Work Orders Benefit My Company?
All work order fields may be automatically populated when a new work order is created. This saves time and provides consistency. Use the ‘Set Defaults’ feature and MaintSmart populates the fields you designate automatically.

56 How Can Work Orders Benefit My Company?
Multiple work orders may be combined to create a ‘Composite Work Order’. Great for big projects! Composite work orders contain one or more existing work orders. This is particularly useful for projects.

57 How Can Work Orders Benefit My Company?
Existing work orders may be saved as ‘Work Order Templates’ (boiler-plate copies). These templates may be used in several ways to create copies of themselves for repetitive work. Work order templates are simply copies of existing work orders that may be used to create new duplicate work orders. These are useful for repetitive tasks.

58 How Can Work Orders Benefit My Company?
Work order templates may be linked to meters then automatically create work orders based upon equipment runtime schedules. This saves time and insures work is created when needed. Meter example: might be a ‘hour meter’ or a PLC counter instruction. This is a more advanced feature that may be used if needed and provides a way for MaintSmart to trigger work off of calendar or non-calendar based units such as equipment demand.

59 How Can Work Orders Benefit My Company?
Meters are simply values with a unit you may define. A meter may have up to six value/units. Meters may be manually updated or automatically updated by OPC Compliant data sources. Imagine having your equipment tell you when it needs service. Here’s a common meter example: “Change motor oil every 6 months or 6000 miles”. The meter may be named: ‘Oil Change’; the value/units could be 6 months and 6000 miles. This is an optional section that may be useful if you decide to automate some or all of your work orders. Meters are simply units of something. Examples of meters: odometer in your car, days, counts, units produced, hour meter on a machine. Meters may obtain their updated readings from manual input, from an Excel spreadsheet or through a OPC compliant network.

60 How Can Work Orders Benefit My Company?
Link needed parts to work order templates. When work order is created part(s) are automatically used from inventory. Parts linked to work order templates are automatically used when a work order is created from the template. Of course you may deactivate this automatic usage at any time without breaking these links.

61 How Are PMs Different Than Work Orders?
MaintSmart provides a separate PMs (preventive maintenance) section. It works very well for calendar-based repetitive tasks. PMs are similar to work order per se but are typically in a list format, are calendar-based and are repetitive. PMs automatically recycle and archive themselves automatically.

62 How Are PMs Different Than Work Orders?
PM task lists are similar to work orders but are in a list format. This is an example of a PM list. There are 6 different PM list formats to choose from.

63 How Are PMs Different Than Work Orders?
Date sensitive grid filters are useful for quick access to a particular grid view and are stored as menu items. Example: “Bob’s Weekly PM’s” Grid filters may be created to aid inexperienced user in obtaining the grid view they need. For example Bob can come in Monday morning click his menu item and print his PMs for the week.

64 How Are PMs Different Than Work Orders?
Although in a list format PM task lists may contain up to 2 GB of detail text if needed. Add detail data to PMs just like work orders. Multi-select PMs and apply details to all of them at once.

65 Reliability Analysis Guides You Toward Improvement.
MaintSmart uses military standard reliability analysis. Determine average time between failures by failure cause on a particular equipment item. With this data in hand you can assign preventive tasks to avoid this problem in the future.

66 Reliability Analysis Guides You Toward Improvement.
