The overall mission planning concept is the organization scheme designed to:
Ensure that the primary mission goals are met
Ensure that changes in mission state are handled
Ensure that serendipitous science can be done
Ensure that the mission timeline is being filled!

Orbit planning/selection
Ensuring that multi “day” activities are scheduled correctly
Handling contingency planning
MTP responsible for delivering a baseline activity plan at the start of every STP cycle
Staffed by representatives of the SWT/SOC and the flight ops teams + LTP representatives

Tactical process
Running synchronized with the uplink/downlink cycle
Ensuring that validated/safe OIOR’s are implemented and uplinked/executed
Staffed out of the SWT/Instrument Eng/SOC and the flight ops teams
