Accessing the Assessment Share Folder
Click connect to server from the GO drop down.

Enter https://webfs.gcisd.net or select it from the list

Testing Users Each Sunday night at 9:00 an is sent that has the secure password for the testing server. Please do not post this password at anytime. If you are not receiving this , please let me know. Thank you! XXXtesting is the username where xxx is the campus prefix The password is the one sent to you each week.

DMAC - TEKScore Online Scoring
Students and teachers will have the option of utilizing the Online Response system. Students must have their 6 digit ID, DOB, and TEST KEY code to take a test utilizing the TEKScore Online Response System.

IStation IStation is for K-8 in Reading and K-8 in Math. IStation at home is available K-8 also. This must be set up by teachers for home access. There are directions on the website. Resources for IStation are found on the District web page if logged in under Universal Screener and on the IStation web page under GET HELP and Toolbox. CTC’s can add students and teachers – THIS IS UP TO YOU!! When you add students, please also add the demo data. There are ‘field test’ questions on the assessments grades These are noted with a cross symbol before the questions. They do not impact the ISIP score. Additional IStation Resources Use the Student Summary Report for Parent Conferences. CRITERIA CHECKLIST K-8

CogAT Testing will only be in grades 2 and 5 this year.
Data file will be submitted the last week of September. Teacher list will also be submitted the last week of September. Training powerpoint will be forthcoming. Website needs to be updated. Parent letters are updated. Testing must be on a hardwired computer at this time.

PSAT PSAT 8/9 will be administered for all 8th graders this year.
PSAT will be administered free of charge for all 9th – 11th graders this year. This is a change for this school year. Training was held last week for PSAT. Campuses need to let Amy know of the date that all PSAT proctors will be trained.

TELPAS Jodi and I will do a TELPAS training that will be pushed out for you to show to your campus in late January. All raters must certify in a controlled setting again this school year. We will be setting up 4 certification sessions and all raters must certify at one of these monitored sessions. February 15 – 3:30-5:30 – PDEC Panther February 16 – 3:30-5:30 – PDEC Panther February 27 – 3:30-5:30 – PDEC Panther February 28 – 3:30-5:30 – PDEC Panther

TELPAS TELPAS is from March 6 – April 5, We will not test until the end of the window this year… Writing Collection window opens on February 13th – all collections must have 5 samples. Holistic entry process will NOT require an entry ticket this year for every student. There is a STAAR Spanish Website – this is new and will be updated regularly TEA STAAR SPANISH WEBSITE

STAAR STAAR now encompasses STAAR A and STAAR L
STAAR will be offered online and on paper in all grade levels and subjects The enhanced online version of STAAR with all 3 embedded accommodations and available accessibility features will be comparable to all features that were available in STAAR A The online version of the STAAR with language and vocab supports and TTS will be comparable to the linguistic accommodations that were included with STAAR L

STAAR ALT2 Spring 2016 Essence Statements are posted Essence Statements Cluster Release Questions are postedReleased Test Questions and Forms Security - teachers can keep materials in their rooms ALL DAY as long as they are locked up when not in use - when teaching they must be locked up.

STAAR ALT2 April 3, 2017 – students who are new to the DISTRICT AFTER this date do not have to be tested. Transfers in the district DO test. Last day for Test Administrator Training – March 17 Preview Window – March 20-31 Assessment window is from April 3-April 21 (NEW) Verification Window – April – all data must be verified in this window and any missed student must be tested or omitted data must be submitted. NAAR student eligibility must be reviewed EVERY year.

Accommodations All current ARFs are in effect until December 2016.
ARFs for Spring testing will begin approval process in January. 2016 Fall TEA Accommodations Update Accommodations are now known as: Accessibility features – formerly known as Allowable Test Administration Procedures and Materials (FOR ALL) Designated Supports – formerly known as TYPE I or Linguistic Accommodations Designed Supports – formerly known as TYPE 2 (REQUIRE and ARF)

Accommodations Use of the 3 customizable online features must be documented in the IEP in the accommodations section Must go to ARD or complete and amend to document the changes in testing LPACs should wait until as close as possible to testing to make testing decisions There will be a FORM 1 this year for all subjects and tests

Participation Counts - Telescoping Students
Students take the STAAR test for the subject in which they are enrolled for 100% of instruction. Second graders do not take STAAR when Telescoped. Verify the counts in Skyward or with your Data Secretaries. Participation counts are due on the spreadsheets that were sent out by October 26th.

Senate Bill IGC Allows a student to graduate from a Texas public high school even if they have not met standard on 2 or fewer STAAR EOC assessments IGC must meet to determine student eligibility Student must meet additional requirements in courses for which they have not passed an EOC Students must continue to attempt EOCs until they graduate ELL students who have used ENG I Special Provision can only fail one additional EOC assessment

Irregularities TEA divides testing irregularities into two categories:
Serious - purposeful, deliberate, intentional Procedural - clerical, accidental (human error) When there is an incident, and Incident Form must be completed from the website. District Incident Reporting Form Investigating Irregularities Call Amy Gather your information Questions to ask yourself and your staff when a testing irregularity occurs: Who is involved? What happened? Where did it happen? When did it happen? Why did it happen?

Types of Irregularities
Serious: Directly or indirectly assisting students with responses to test questions Tampering with student responses Falsifying TELPAS holistic ratings or STAAR Alternate student performance data Viewing secure test content before, during, or after an administration Discussing secure test content, student responses, or student performance Duplicating, recording, or capturing electronically secure test content without TEA permission Scoring student tests, either formally or informally

Types of Irregularities
Procedural: Eligible students are NOT tested - TELPAS is the #1 occurrence Ineligible students WERE tested. Newly enrolled students who must retest are not provided a retest opportunity for grade 5 or 8 Math and Reading or STAAR EOC Accommodation errors Test version errors Test administrator did not verify that a student recorded his/her responses and accepted a blank answer document Test administrator did NOT read the test administration directions

Keys and Key Blocks You and only you should have a key to the Testing Room. You should also have a Key Block with a key or a code to get in. All testing materials should be locked and secured at all times. In January, CTC’s will complete a Security Certification form.

Share the Dates NOW Share all dates that you have that are related to testing NOW! Create a calendar that you can update for yourself and others as needed – STATE testing dates will not change. Reserve the rooms that you will need now.

Assessment Conference
Texas Assessment Conference February 20-22, 2017 We will leave from admin about 7:30 on Monday morning and return on Wednesday afternoon. Monday, February 20th is a Professional Work Day Currently, there are 10 spots. These are for the newbies first and then anyone else who wants to go. Please let me know by October 7th if you would like to go so that Debra can work on reservations.

**There are students that have the same first and last names. Please ensure that the people handling CSR’s send the correct CSR to the correct home.
