3 ASSUMPTIONS/CONSTRAINTS Research Excellence Framework (REF) was announced on December 18 th, 2014 The Pre-RFP process began with a search for external OD consultants possessing a comprehensive understanding of the REF framework and the REF review process. Consultants presented the “Strategic Issues Facing IoE” before sponsors and board The Request for Proposal (RFP) was announced September 15 th, 2015 Consultants that participated in the Pre-RFP process were invited to submit a tentative strategic plan of action and inclusive of a project proposal The final selection of Request for Proposal (RFP) was announced October 30 th, 2015 Consultant signs a confidentiality agreement and is advised of likelihood of a long term consulting contract upon the successful completion of the project in 45 days

8 KEY FINDINGS / RECOMMENDATIONS Key Impact Research Findings Most REF impact case studies are multidisciplinary Impact case studies are diverse, but unique impact topics were identified. Unique impact topics revealed numerous pathways for IoE impact research Every county in the world is a beneficiary of impact research conducted by IoE Recommendations 1. Support for international education should be maintained and strengthened 2. Internationally collaborative science should be encouraged, supported and facilitated 3. National/international strategies for education are required to address global challenges 4. International capacity building ensures that the impacts of education research are shared 5. Better indicators are required in order to properly evaluate global education
