RIDING THE BUS PESPA Meeting with all ESE Associates Routes chosen by associates using seniority All ESE Associates are assigned first If there more routes than ESE Associates, then others may volunteer Short 5-10 minute break after getting off bus in morning and again before getting on bus in afternoon.

COMP TIME PESPA Overall plan must be agreed to every six months Employees document it and turn in to Administration (or appropriate person) Earned at time and a half (1 hr over = 1 and ½ hr comp time) Must request and take it when it isn’t a big disruption Must be used within 6 months or it is PAID Max 240 hours everything over is PAID

JUST CAUSE (SEVEN TESTS OF PROPER DISCIPLINE) PCTA AND PESPA 1.Is there a rule or policy? 2.Was the employee told the rule? 3.Was the employee told the consequences of not following the rule? 4.Was the investigation fair and thorough? 5.Was there evidence of guilt? 6.Is the discipline fair (but it can take into consideration employee record)? 7.Does the punishment fit the infraction?

INVESTIGATIONS—YOU HAVE RIGHTS PCTA AND PESPA Never speak with anyone about discipline without representation Consult your Member Services Director about statements BEFORE you give them to anyone Can ask for representation if you think any meeting has become disciplinary

INVESTIGATIONS: YOU HAVE RIGHTS Names Dates Statements Videos Answering Questions Administration bears the burden of Proof. You have a right to see: Keep Answers short and factual Only answer questions you are asked Always have a representative with you when you answer questions

TIME AND WORKDAY THE COMMITTEE (SECTION 2 B 1) Committee of four One rep and one chosen by rep One principal and one chosen by principal Sets teacher start and end time Schedule for planning and lunch Calendar of trainings and meetings Faculty approves, Rep and Principal sign, and goes to Area Superintendent and PCTA President

WHAT IF THE COMMITTEE CAN’T DECIDE OR FACULTY DOESN’T APPROVE? Elementary 30 min plan and 30 min lunch per day Two hours per week non contact time planning One meeting (PLC, Collaborative planning, Lesson Study, or Coaching Cycle) during planning each week One meeting during non-student contact time No one has to go to two meetings in one day. In-service during planning is optional One day free of Parent Conferences and Friday must be free of parent conferences Parent conferences and IEP meetings can’t occur during planning

WHAT IF THE COMMITTEE CAN’T DECIDE OR FACULTY DOESN’T APPROVE? Secondary Lunch varies (equal to that of student) Planning equal to one period per day 2 hours during non-student contact time (or 330 minutes per week) In-service during planning is optional One day free of Parent Conferences and Friday must be free of parent conferences Parent conferences and IEP meetings can’t occur during planning

LEAD MONEY PCTA Not subject to bargaining per law “I agree to keep the receipts for all expenditures for no less than 4 years. I understand that if I do not keep the receipts, it will be my personal responsibility to pay any federal taxes due on these funds. I also agree to return any unexpended funds to the district school board at the end of the regular school year for deposit into the school advisory council account of the school where I was employed at the time I received the funds or for deposit into the Florida Teachers Lead Program account of the school district in which the charter school is sponsored, as applicable.”
