3 Work Experience/MEE* @SFCF Wex has not been mandatory at SFCF except for L2 course and H&S Care course 2016 new requirement for students to engage with Meaningful Employer Engagement (MEE) New for 2016 Kloodle - student profile platform which includes ability to log Wex All vocational students supported with finding Wex opportunities All curriculum areas supported with industry led Wex projects

5 Healthcare careers @ SFCF Meaningful WRL caring envi’s not just Hospitals - placements are so limited in Hospitals Awareness of the attitudes and behaviours essential to becoming a doctor Realistic understanding of the physical and emotional demands Importance of being able to demonstrate and reflect on what they have learned - recommend log of activity and learning outcome. “Going the Extra Mile” wider reading - New Sci, Student BMJ, EPQ

6 Work Experience within NHS - a College perspective How can we be more original in our signposting? Are NHS partnerships realistically offering placements? Are there usually NHS dedicated personnel to work with educational establishments Or is the responsibility ad hoc? Ideas for Wex projects/placements within NHS functions (e.g HR, business, communications, website) Do we need to promote the benefits and skills our students have?
