3. Brief Background Info for New Participants ECEC Portal. The network suggested an exercise to update country profiles (Annex in Starting Strong II); It was agreed that: –the output will be presented in a comparative form by theme rather than by country; –it will be presented in an online form; –it will draw on existing work (DELSA’s Family Database, SSI & II). It will first be used as an internal working tool among the network members; it will then be made publicly available with the country validation on the information/data.

4. Quality Project. The activity was launched to answer “How can countries put in place policies to encourage quality in ECEC?”. Focus is “How” not “What”. Network is mandated by the Education Policy Committee to guide the quality project as a GNE. The expected outputs include: –Policy Tool Box for all countries. –Country-specific policy profiles and policy forums for countries with voluntary contributions.
