2 Some verbs in Spanish are a little trickier when you conjugate them in the preterite because some forms take on a spelling change in their stem. Look at the following preterite forms of the verb “pedir”: yopedí nosotros pedimos túpediste Ud./él/ella pidió Uds./ellos/ellas pidieron Notice how the bottom forms (Ud./él/ella and Uds./ellos/ellas) changed to i.

3 Let’s do some practice. What is the preterite “tú” form of the verb “vestir”? vestiste! That’s right… it’s repitieron! Let’s do a few more. What is the preterite “ellos” form of the verb “repetir”?

4 What is the preterite “nosotros” form of the verb “pedir”? pedimos! That’s right… it’s vestí! What is the preterite “yo” form of the verb “vestir”?

5 What is the preterite “ellos” form of the verb “repetir”? repitieron! That’s right… it’s vestimos! What is the preterite “nosotros” form of the verb “vestir”?
