4. Bell Ringers  8/31 - I want you to write about a time when nature ruined your day. What I mean by that is give me a situation when the weather stopped you from something you were looking forward to, or in the middle of. Maybe a swarm of hostile wasps roamed the streets of your neighborhood one holiday weekend, or maybe that time you were held prisoner in your tent because of a wandering bear? Please write at least 4 – 5 sentences.  9/1 - Today I want you to write about a time when you had an opportunity to do something for someone else but didn’t. What was the situation? Why didn’t you help that person? How did you feel afterward? If you could go back, would you do things differently?  9/3 – If I could change one thing about myself, it would be…  9/9 - I want you to list #1 – 10 in your journal. Then write down 10 of your most favorite movies of all time. They do not have to be in any particular order. Don’t share until the time is up please!  9/17 - Tell me about a time when either you, or someone you know was in a dangerous and/or life threatening situation. What was the situation? What did you do? Explain.  10/5 - What did you learn from completing this research paper? What do you think your grade should be? Why? What did you find to be the most difficult part of the assignment? What was the easiest? If you could go back in time, what would you do differently to achieve a higher grade/create a better paper?  10/6 - If you were ruler of the world, what things would you banish absolutely for all time (rain on weekends, eggplant, and so forth)? Make a list. Use your imagination. School and socially appropriate please.  10/19 - Write about a time when you went on a fun vacation. Be sure to use imagery, figurative language, and at least 10 vocabulary words in your story. If you do not have a memory of one, then write about your dream vacation using all the same criteria from above.
