You’ve been lied to! And it’s keeping you from being a better Boss! In the next 3 minutes I’ll show you the 7 Management Myths that are causing even the smartest managers to Under-Manage and keeps them from reaching their potential.

MYTH #1- EMPOWERMENT “The way to empower people is to leave them alone and let them manage themselves.” - But the reality is that almost everybody performs better with more guidance, direction and support.

MYTH #2 - FAIRNESS “The way to be fair is to treat everybody the same.” But fairness is actually doing more for some people and less for others, based on what they deserve – based on their performance.

MYTH #3 – JERK BOSS “The only way to be strong is to act like a jerk, but I want to be a ‘nice guy/gal.’” But real “nice” managers do what it takes to help employees succeed so that those employees can deliver great performance for customers and earn more rewards.

MYTH #4 – DIFFICULT CONVERSATION “Being hands off is the way to avoid confrontations with employees.” The reality is that weak managers make these confrontations inevitable. Being a strong manager means these confrontations rarely occur, and when they do happen they are not so painful for the manager or the employee.

MYTH #5 – RED TAPE “There’s nothing I can do.” Managers think they are prevented from being strong because there are so many factors beyond their control – red tape, corporate culture, senior management, limited resources. Instead of focusing on what they can’t control, they need to be stronger by focusing on the many factors that are within their control. At the same time they need to learn the rules and red tape so they can work within and around them.

MYTH #6 – NATURAL LEADER “I am not good at managing.” But the best managers are those people who, whether they are natural leaders or not, learn proven techniques, practice those techniques diligently until they become skills, and continue practicing them until they become habits.

MYTH #7 - TIME “I don’t have enough time to manage people.” The reality is that a managers’ time is limited, so they definitely don’t have time to deal with all the things that go wrong when they do not spend enough time up-front managing people.

DON’T BE A WEAK MANAGER There are 8 back-to-basics techniques that can help you be a strong and highly engaged manager. We’ve put together a quick report that helps you identify the techniques so that you can start being as successful as possible. Download it free of charge below.
