4 Customer Relationship Management Customers are Priority Buyers research companies online and get first impression from the Company Website Website Flaws: “Industrial Marketing of the Internet:” 74% of buyers expect to find prices online but only about 23% of company has prices listed “Web Design Mistakes:” Should be quick and easy to use, no more than for clicks Module 6: China Plant has problem with website, was in English and had US dollars price listed Central needs to work on website to have strong customer relationships

5 Global Expansion Increase revenues and decrease cost domestically Must research markets and regulations internationally Keep in mind: while expanding may bring new customers and increase revenue, you must keep them pleased. Achieving Globalization Strategy: Customers want answers with 24 hours, if not, they move on. If you will not be able to communicate with your customers, then expanding your organization is not in your best interest.

6 Using IT to communicate (VOIP) Voice Over Internet Protocol Use video, audio and chat conferencing to allow many people to join the meeting.. Module 6 begins with Web Conference, allowed team members who were out of town to be included in the meeting. It is ideal for people who are usually traveling or have a lot of work in their office. They can be at the meeting with out physically being there Team Viewer: allows users to collaborate and share documents

7 Using IT to Communcate (HandHeld Device Hand Held Devices Central uses them to access instant messaging, email, and a task list that are pending throughout the day. Convientent to stay up to date on everything that is happening within a company. Intel IT: allows employees to access company data using their smart phones and other devices.

8 Web 2.0 Great interaction between customers Web 2.0 has become user friendly and allows customer to provide reviews of the product and company on their website. Web 2.0 encourages participation and feedback fro buyers Central using Web 2.0: Eric discusses how he uses Web 2.0 to communicate with people 2000 miles away in a ditch. Engineers are able to make recommendations without actually being there.

9 Logistics Managment Logistics Management is the control of the flow of goods and services in order to meet the customers needs. New programs related to Logistic Management has made it possible for products to “talk to each other.”  SCM is now able to detect a problem in time to find a solution  Will be able to manage warehouse stock and monitor inventory to reduce situations where the warehouse has no stock

10 Security Internet advances are great, but precautions need to be taken. Firewalls: protect the outside wall at an organization Anti-virus: detect viruses within your system Phishing: mass emails in the attempt of gaining company information from employees
