4 As a student I will:  I will come to school on time every day.  I will come to school prepared.  I will respect everyone.  I will try my best in everything I do.

5 I will:  promote a safe and welcoming environment, conducive to learning.  provide instruction which challenges and meets the needs of each child.  provide tutoring services as needed to ensure students’ readiness for the next grade level.  promote and model positive character traits.  maintain clear and timely communication between home and school, using the Thursday folder, teacher website, email, Parent Connect, newsletters, and phone calls.

6 I will:  send my child to school on time, properly groomed, in dress code, and well-rested.  check and return Tuesday folder and regularly check backpack for additional information.  attend and offer my assistance at conferences, school activities, parent workshops, and PTO meetings.  talk with my child every day about school, goals and respecting self, adults, peers, and school property.  read with my child daily and promote physical activities.  provide a quiet environment in which my child can work, supervise homework completion and its return every day.  limit and monitor the use of television, internet, cell phone, and video games.  communicate with the teachers and school personnel regarding my child’s needs.  be a positive role model for my child.

8  Practice tying shoes, tucking in shirt, and fastening belts  Practice hand washing with soap, personal Hygiene  Students must wear appropriate shoes and socks (PE days)  Uniforms: red, white, blue, light blue shirts  Khaki or Navy blue pants, shorts, jumpers  TEAM Tuesday: Wear UH-Downtown shirts or colors; red, white and blue with uniform bottoms  Friday: students may wear Polo or Spirit shirt with jeans  No designs in hair

9  The school provides breakfast for every student.  Breakfast ends PROMPTLY at 8:10 am.  Lunch is provided at a reduced price, you may ask for a form in office.  Practice and memorize PIN number  Parents may eat lunch with their students on Fridays.

10  Teacher expectations: consistently implement and praise the following:  SCHOLAR – Successful, Committed to Learning, Honorable, On the Ball, Loyal, Attentive and Respectful  Nurtured Heart Behavior Management  Notes, phone calls, and parent conferences 1:40- 2:10 p.m.  Student expectations: consistently embrace and exhibit the following:  SCHOLAR qualities  Nurtured Heart characteristics

11  Notes  Tardy at 8:20 am  Going Home  ALWAYS send a note for any change, cannot be changed without  Dismissal Procedures & Locations  Car Rider dismisses from the cafeteria  Gym Walker dismisses from the Gym, parent must walk up to gym to pick up  MiniVan/Daycare  Back Door dismisses from kindergarten playground, only with second grade or older student family member  Bus riders must know bus number
