3 National or Federal Lawmakers President & Vice President – Elected every 4 years – Limited to 2 terms US Senators – 2 for each state, regardless of size – Elected for 6-year terms – No limit on number of terms US House of Representatives – 435 seats allocated to states based on population size – CA has @ 12.2 % of US population, so CA gets 53 seats in the House of Representatives – CA is divided into 53 districts of @ 717,000 residents each Federal Judges – The 9 US Supreme Ct justices and and roughly 3,000 other federal judges are all appointed by the President and confirmed by the US Senate for life-time terms.
