2. About Me  Hello everyone!!!! I had problems trying to get just my picture on either one of those website so I just did it the old fashioned way.  My name is Courtney Wright. I am a 32 year old single mother of two beautiful daughters. Ashley is 13 and Adreian is 4. We currently live in Phoenix, Arizona and after much moving around trying to find the state that we love the most, we are in the process of trying to make Phoenix home for good.

3.  I currently work as a security officer for Allied Barton Security until I can find something better. I served in the U.S. Navy for 2 years and in the U.S. Air Force Reserves for 6 years as Security Forces. I have a combined total of 6 years working for the Arizona and North Carolina Departments of Corrections.  I don’t have a lot of free time for hobbies due to the fact that I work full time, am in school full time and am homeschooling my kids full time but when I do have free time, I love to read, go to the movies, cook new things, and just hang out and spend quality time with my kids. That is priceless time.

4.  As a kid I was diagnosed with ADHD and my grandmother did not want me on medication. Even though I attended public school until the 4th grade it was not the right fit so my grandmother put me in private school for 5th and then a performing arts middle school for 6th grade. 7th, 8th, and 9th grades were done in public schools with a lot of problems for me because of being classified as being “too white” and a “nerd”. 10th grade was done on homeschool and 11th and 12th grade were completed in private school. I hated public school with a passion. I learned to thrive and got individualized attention in private school and on homeschool and I loved it. I am still in touch with the teachers that taught me in private school for 11th and 12th grade as they serve as my mother figures and keep pushing me to reach for higher. They are also my daughters’ God parents.

5.  I graduated from Ashford with my B.A. in Mass Communications and Journalism in December 2013. I have a passion for public speaking and English. My other passion now that I have kids of my own is education. Education is very important and I value my daughters’ education greatly, thus I made the decision to homeschool. Every time my daughter goes in to take her standardized.  I am excited about this 6 week journey that we are about to take and wish everyone much success as we go through this class.
