1 Causes of Constipation And Its Treatment In Parkinson’s Disease

2 It is a progressive disease of the nervous system characterized by tremor, problems in movement, memory loss, fatigue and muscle impairment. This disease occurs when a brain neurotransmitter is not produced in adequate amount which is dopamine.

3 Constipation In Parkinson’s Disease Constipation often affects the patients with Parkinson’s disease, it occurs when bowel movement become irregular or less frequent. Going longer than three days without a bowel movement causes stool to harden and difficult to pass.

4 Causes Of Constipation in Patients With Parkinson’s Disease In some patients with Parkinson’s constipation may occur because of improper function of autonomic nervous system. Because the autonomic nervous system is responsible for the regularity of smooth muscles the instant tract may operate slowly, causing constipation.

5 Other Causes Of Constipation Not drinking enough water, a diet low in fiber, no proper exercise, eating large amount of dairy products, stress, taking too much medicine.

6 Treatment Eating a well balanced diet with plenty of iron, take high amount of water at least 13 glasses per day, don’t take too much stress, take warm liquids, especially in the morning, do not use laxatives more than two times a week.
