2 Les « Calanques » The “Calanques” are a kind of Creek and there are many in Marseille. They extend over many miles. From the “calanques”, we can see the sea and some species of birds like seagulls or gulls. There are also so many species of fish such as bream, red mullet etc. We can find crusteceans like crabs, mussels or oysters. In the “Calanques”, you can practice many activities, for exemple you can sail, swim and hike in these beautiful landscapes

3 The « château d'if » The Chateau d'If is a French fortification built on the orders of King François I, between 1527 and 1529 on an island of the archipelago of Friuli, near the islands and Ratonneau Pomègues the center of Marseille. It's a square construction who mesur 28 metters with 3 towers. He served of prison during 400 years. Today, It's on of the most visited monument of Marseille. In jully 1929, he was classed historical monument.

4 L '« Estaque » ● L'Estaque is a small French fishing village just west of Marseille. Administratively, it belongs to the commune of Marseille. ● Many artists visited or resided there or in the surrounding area. Many of them painted village scenes, the road leading to the village, and the view of the Bay from the village.

5 The « Littoral Marseillais» or French Coastline ● With its 57 km of coastline, with coves of L'Estaque, the Marseille coast is characterized by its extent, its richness and diversity. ● Marseille has many beaches, natural or artificial. Corbières La Pointe Rouge beaches of sand or pebbles along the shore. Some beaches are monitore for maximum security facilities for provide various fun and practical. ● With his equipment, Marseille Provence Métropole is the second resort marina in Europe, after Chichester in Great Britain.

7 The old port ● The old port ( in French Le vieux port ) is the oldest port of Marseille who was build from VI centuries. He is located at the End of the famous road, the Canebiere who mesured 1000 meters. This port measur 24 hectars and 3500 boats can go in this port. ● In this port you can practice water sport. You can also buy fish from fisherman.
