ALL ABOUT PNEUMATIC TOOLS
2
The pneumatic tools normally used for heavy equipment extrications are the percussive type tools, such as the rivet hammer, and the rotary-type tools including pneumatic impact wrench and the die cut-off saw.
3
When air is compressed, the compressor sucks air & forces it into its tank. Now gas tries to escape as air hose is plugged into the compressor. The air keeps travelling through the hose into the air tool, spinning turbines or pushing pistons until it can escape. Pneumatic tools are air powered. This means that behind the pneumatic tool, an air compressor is connected at the end of the air hose. WORKING PRINCIPLE OF PNEUMATIC TOOLS
4
Pneumatic Wrench – This tool is used to remove and tighten lug nuts on tries. Drills & Die Grinders – These are a lot like dentist drills, they can be used with a variety of attachments that can drill, grind or polish. Pneumatic Staplers – There are four main types of pneumatic staplers used in scenic work, and they’re classified by the size of their crown or the head of the staple. COMMON TYPES OF AIR TOOLS

Never wear neckties, bracelets, wristwatches or loose clothing. If you have long hair, wear a hat or tie it back. Don’t forget to wear hearing protection when using loud tools. Make sure to have a push stick or block within easy reach before starting any cutting or machining operation. Don’t put yourself in awkward positions in which a sudden slip could make your hand hit the blade or cutter. FEW MORE SAFETY TIPS…

Check the compressor oil level before using the drill. Make sure that the air supply is as pure as possible. Inspect the air receiver for any air leakages. Check that the pressure on the gauge is not more than the maximum working pressure of the tool. Open the drain valve to release any moisture. Keep the intake filter clean. Check rubber hoses and fittings for damage or leaks. Check the compressor oil level and filter to prevent damage. PROPER CARE AND STORAGE OF A PNEUMATIC TOOL

Torque from impacts ratchets and gums, which can jam your hands or wrists against vehicle or engine components. Fastener not secured in tool can become a dangerous projectile. DANGERS ASSOCIATED WITH PNEUMATIC TOOLS
