TITLE PAGE A project needs a title. It indicates what was researched. The title should be in the form of a statement, unless the problem statement is used. Then it should be in the form of a question.
9
TITLE PAGE Poor Title: Soap Powder (does not say enough) Better General Title: Cleaning Power of Soap Powder Problem Statement as Title: Which Soap Powder Is Most Effective in Removing Ketchup Stains?

ABSTRACT ABSTRACT - Use this format: COMPLETE PROJECT TITLE (all in capital letters, as it appears on project) Student’s name (Last name, First name, Middle initial if used) Broward County Science Fair Category entered (see next slide) The following information should be included in the abstract: 1. PURPOSE: Why is this research is being done? 2. PROCEDURE: Briefly, in paragraph form, describe the materials used and how the experiment was done. This should be a summary of methods used – not a list! 3. DATA/RESULTS:Briefly summarize the data from charts and graphs in narrative form. Include only information collected during the study. 4. CONCLUSIONS: Briefly, in narrative form, cite interpretation of the results. Briefly, compare findings with other research. Include suggestions for procedural improvements and recommendations for future study. 4. APPLICATION: How is this research useful for everyday life? The abstract should be approximately 250 words, typed single-spaced on the official isef form, font size 10-12, and must fit in the box on the form at the ISEF website:tHTtps://member.societyforscience.org/document.doc?id=688tHTtps://member.societyforscience.org/document.doc?id=688
