3. Luke 19:1-4
“1Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through. 2 A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy.

3 He wanted to see who Jesus was, but because he was short he could not see over the crowd. 4 So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see him, since Jesus was coming that way.

5. Luke 19:5-7
5 When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today.”6 So he came down at once and welcomed him gladly.7 All the people saw this and began to mutter, “He has gone to be the guest of a sinner.”

6. “Don’t judge someone just because they sin differently than you do.”

8. Luke 19:8
8 But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount.”

9. Once we recognize Jesus as Lord (Awareness), he requires our repentance (Humility) and our obedience (Action).

9 Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham. 10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

14. There are many things money cannot buy
There are many things money cannot buy. Money can buy a bed, but not sleep. Books but not brains. Food but not an appetite. Finery but not beauty. A house but not a home. Medicine but not health. Pleasures but not peace. A crucifix but not a Savior. A church building but not heaven.

15. Debt comes from wanting more than God is currently providing and creating other ways to get it.

Belief #3. I honor God by giving the first fruits of all my earnings for His purposes.

17. Our truth (however we want to justify it) never supersedes God’s truth.

18. “The Lord loveth a cheerful giver. He also accepteth from a grouch.”

19. Tithing is a key step towards simplifying our life and being fully reconciled to Christ, because, when we tithe, we are telling God that we trust him with everything in our lives, then He can move us from being overwhelmed to in control.
