2. Race Car Driving Auto racing is a motorsport involving the racing of cars for competition. It is one of the world's most watched televised sports…. Racing began soon after the construction of the first successful gasoline-fueled automobiles. The first race ever organized was on April 28, 1887 Then after they began doing city to city races, mile races, formula racing, which is like now NASCAR races for a world champion

3. How is math science and technology is used? Technology is used well the car for one and all the parts to the car… Math is used because they calculate the aerodynamic of their car might include (density of weight) and the speed of which they can traveling at to estimate the control and speed the car can go. Basic math is used in race car driving in the way that: –How fast a driver makes his/her way around a corner compared to other drivers? –How fast the driver goes down a straight away? –Race speeds compared to practice and qualifying speeds –Laps led in races –Average finishing position –Quality passes – passing other cars in the top 15 –Total winnings in money –Number of top 5 finishes –Number of top 10 finishes –Number of pole positions –Number of wins

4. Math used in everyday races… You may not realize it, but you see math in every race. It may not be obvious; however here are a few examples: –Number of laps, with the number of laps remaining in the race –Number of laps lead by a particular driver –Average speeds for cars –Miles per hour of cars –Instantaneous speed of a car at specific points on the course –Seconds ahead or behind –Number of laps behind or ahead –Number of cars on the lead lap Race Cars are Math Manipulative…. –All four tires are measured and the data is used to determine the forces being applied to each tire –Pit crews are measured to see how long it takes them to handle all the manipulative aspects of the race car to get it back on the track –The amount of gas used during the race is measured to determine fuel efficiency and how far the car will go a tank of gas

5. Why Race Car & what we learned The reason we chose race car driver is because it was the first thing we agreed on. We knew very little about race car driving before this so everything we mentioned is new information we learned.

6. How has past year helped & additional skills To find things like the time it takes for a car to go from 0-60 mph and the likelihood of you being in a crash you would use statistics and probability which we covered this year. Additional skills would probably be good eyesight and reflexes.
