1 Highlights of the Consortium Agreement Vircamp

2 Definition and Aims The Social Work Virtual Campus is a virtual campus which offers an online international, multifunctional learning community to social work students and academics in the field of social work. SW-VirCamp takes over the responsibility to arrange the online courses developed by the VIRCLASS Consortium. Offer to students a Social Work Virtual Campus, which has as an overall objective that social work students (future social work professionals) will be more competent to meet the needs of a knowledge based, intercultural, socially cohesive European society..

3 specific objectives To internationalize the Partner institutions bachelor programmes by offering in-depth studies in comparative international social work on bachelor level. This will be Bologna aligned and tuned with relevant national quality standards The international educational programme will contain 3 learning elements, namely Theory/e-learning courses (up to 30 ECTS credits), Practice placement abroad and/or Study abroad (up to 30 ECTS credits) and BA thesis in an international comparative perspective (up to 15 ECTS credits). The number of ECTS credits will be according to the curriculum plans of each partner institution

4 specific objectives (future oriented) To develop and update a webportal offering information and a meeting place for international students, teachers and researchers. To promote research on e-learning and teaching in social work and social work education. To promote international cooperation and learning of social work in Europe. To promote the digital competences of teachers by offering courses in e-pedagogy for teachers in HEI. To develop new e-learning courses and options for the Virtual Campus when needed.

5 Responsibilities of each Partner Administrating and updating a Virtual Campus for International Social Work realising the presented aims Sharing the costs for the administration and running of the SW-VirCamp according to the budget agreed upon by the CMG. Sharing the responsibility for teaching and assessment in the courses offered by the Consortium Making sure that key staff involved will be available to fulfil their role outlined.

6 Consortium Management Group (CMG) The CMG Meeting is the General Assembly of the Consortium. In order to take decisions on the overall organisation of the Virtual Campus and its activities CMG consists of one representative from each partner institution. A chairman is elected among the CMG for 2 years The CMG meets once a year. In addition to this, online conferences can be arranged The representatives shall not deliberate and are not able to decide validly in the CMG Meeting unless two thirds (2/3) of the Partners are present or represented at the respective meeting

7 Steering Committee (SC) The Steering Committee is the executive committee. The SC consists of five members: the task leaders, including the Consortium leader. All major decisions will have to be made with 2/3 majority of the votes. The SC monitors the Virtual Campus. Decisions about amendments in budget allocations will be taken by the Steering Committee. The Consortium leader chairs the SC meetings. The SC meets twice a year in person. In addition to this, email voting and online conferences can be arranged.

9 New Partners: The SW-VirCamp welcome new partners to join the Consortium. The Steering Committee decides whether or not to accept new consortium partners. Such decisions require unanimous approval. Once accepted, new partners are entitled to undertake obligations and opportunities stated in this Agreement

10 Intellectual property rights (IPR) Copyright belongs to the Partners involved in the production and givesfree use for all Consortium Partners. Other potential users turn to the Leading Partner, representing the consortium, to settle copyrights. The Video Case produced for the online courses cannot be presented or used in educational situations other than the SW-VirCamp Educational Programme.

11 VIRTUAL BOOK The copyright to this Learning Resource belongs to HiB. Partners involved in the production of this specific Learning Resource may use their own work (lecture, photo, animations, etc) without prior permission by HiB.

12 Duration of this CA The duration of this Consortium Agreement is from 1 October 2010 till the CMG Meeting decides to abolish the Agreement. An evaluation of the CA and the SW-VirCamp products should be done every after the 1 st year and later after every 3 rd year and initiated by the Leading Partner together with the Research Leader. This agreement will be ruled by the law of the Leading Partner
