7 GOW Vision Provide 2015 work related opportunities by 2015; and To guarantee that all 18 year olds leaving school in 2015 can access continued education, training or a job* Focus on jobs and… –Work experience –Volunteering with employability –Interns –Apprenticeships –Jobs with training – Youth Contract

8 A specific offer to young people Keen focus on the transition points – building GOW in to raising the participation age….a guarantee? More jobs with training for 18+ More imaginative route-ways – progression from volunteering, to work experience, pre- apprenticeships……to jobs But also looking at post-25 part of UC

9 Council leading by example Procurement – Commissioning includes GOW menu Recruitment practices – Priority access to jobs for anyone on GOW Workforce – Creating 200 apprenticeships and jobs with training (Youth Contract), interns….a plan to – Incubate a potential ‘agency’ that employs and connects jobs and people Simplifying the offer – Removing risk for business and residents – Single portal - web

10 Partners doing their bit Named GOW lead in all partners – police, fire, housing, health… Leisure passes to add to GOW 1000 opportunities for work experience, apprenticeships, volunteering, jobs with training, internships Voluntary sector – 40+ organisations looking to support GOW – richness of offer Adopting procurement & recruitment practices; joining incubator ‘agency’

14 1 – Job Centre Plus 2 – Work Programme Resident Talent Pool Sector Based Work Academy Working Interview Oldham Trainee Agency Weeks 1 - 20 Wk 1 – Induction and National Careers Service support Week 1 – In work support begins Plus ongoing supervision from host organisation. Week 13 – Mid term review meeting Week 20 + Begin working interviews with other employers as part of exit strategy. Day release moving to full time. Next Job Progression into private sector jobs LEB clauses Campaign Meet the employer events WP Prime contacts 26wks plus
