1 Information systems in waste management OFFICIAL INFORMATION X TRUE INFORMATION

2 Coal Combustion Products Fly ash (from pulverized coal-fired boilers) obtained by electrostatic or mechanical precipitation of dust-like particles from the flue gases of furnaces fired with coal or lignite at 1100 to 1400°C. Fly ash (from fluidized bed boilers) produced in fluidized bed combustion boilers. The technique combines coal combustion and flue gas desulphurization in the boiler at temperatures of 800 to 900°C. Bottom ash is a granular material removed from the bottom of dry boilers, which is much coarser than fly ash though also formed during the combustion of coal. Flue gas desulphurization gypsum is a natural gypsum like product which is obtained by wet desulphurization of flue gas and special treatment of the adsorbed products. J. Bucharová, presentation from 2.5.12

8 When considering the data from Pollutant Release and Transfer Register (i.e. not including „products“ into calculation: 117.5 tons arsenic in fly ash (both types): 156 tons arsenic in bottom ash: 147 tons 72% of arsenic released into environment of the Czech Republic is not identified through the national Pollutant Release and Transfer Register. How much of arsenic is released every year at the area of the Czech Republic?
