16 What does the text reveal about the lifestyle and character of Dorothy Wordsworth? As is fitting for a woman of her station, Dorothy Wordsworth seems to place a keen emphasis on respectability. She uses the adjective ‘decent’ twice, once referring to the cloth over the coffin, once to the countenances of the men. This shows that she places a lot of importance on acting appropriately.
