1. Almsgiving Tuesday 11 th March

2. Sharing Our prayer, fasting and almsgiving should call us to a greater awareness of the needs of others; and we must act on that awareness. We can give alms by sharing not only our money, but our time and talents as well. By giving to the poor we are saying, “I realise that you are there. You are a child of God and you are important.” From almsgiving comes respect, care for the poor, and friendship that stretches our minds and hearts for love of God’s creation.

3. Heavenly Father, Your Son was born in an animal stall because there was no room for Mary and Joseph at the Inn. A restless homelessness journeying from village to village preaching and healing marked his public ministry. He identified with those uprooted, abandoned, and rejected and proclaimed, “In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places.” (John 14: 2) Hear us now imitate your Son as we pray for those wandering the lands throughout our world seeking a home.

4. Prayer: All: We pray for the more than 220 million people wandering our earth searching for safety, stability, work and basic human needs. We pray in sorrow for the hostility they often endure and for the exploitation and violence that crushes their will and self-esteem. We pray that their search for welcome and peace be fulfilled with compassion of the nations and the support of all believers in God. We ask this through Our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen

5. Go and do…. In Sierra Leone, three out of every four rural households do not have enough food to eat and go hungry. Give 30p for every meal you have today, and an extra 10p if you had pudding!
