2 Proposed Synthetic Pitch Treviglas Community College Description and Aims of Proposals. The proposed synthetic pitch and enclosure will be located adjacent to the sports hub and dome, and complement the existing sport facilities on campus. The full size pitch will promote participation in football and other sports for users from under 6 through to adults. Provide a safe, accessible and inclusive facility that benefits all members of the community. Promote the use of the facility for local primary schools, local sports clubs and individuals. Reduce demand on the existing multi game Astro facility at NT through the relocation of Newquay AFC to TCC, thus allowing greater access for other sports such as Rugby at NT. To reduce the drop off in sport / football participation for the over 16, increasing the opportunity of sport participation through the adult life. The proposed operating hours will be 9am to 10pm Monday to Saturday 9am to 10pm and 10am to 7pm on Sundays.

3 Pre-Planning Research and Reports The college has commissioned a topographical survey across the proposed development area. The drawings included in the planning application will indicate accurately the proposed visual impact of the pitch and enclosure. A Phase 1 Ecological survey has been commissioned to determine the presence of protected species, and if identified, propose mitigation to ensure habitats are protected. The college has had initial consultations with the proposed funding organisation, The Football Foundation, into how the facility will provide the best football outcomes for the college and community. An assessment of the need of the facility within the local area will be made prior to submitting a formal funding application.

The proposal includes for new parking spaces to serve the neighbouring playing fields and an area to allow local residents to walk dogs.

11 Pre-Planning Research and Reports The club has received support through the Sport England Protecting Playing Fields Grant for the levelling and re-grading of the proposed pitches. The club made a pre-application enquiry to Cornwall Council Planning Department into a development which proposed more extensive accommodation on the site. The current proposals are significantly reduced and follow the recommendations set out in the pre-application response. The Club have commissioned a topographical survey across the proposed development area. A Phase 1 Ecological survey and bat and owl survey has been commissioned and will accompany the planning application documents. The club have had positive consultations with the proposed funding organisation The Football Foundation, into how the facility will provide the best football outcomes for the continual development of the club. The club have commissioned Cole Easdon Highways Consultants to assess the impact of traffic movements and parking requirements on the site.
