1 Reviewing Lesson 5 In Lesson 5 we covered the 430 year prophecy which like the 400 year prophecy ended with the children of Israel coming out of Egypt at the Exodus. We also learned that since the children of Israel did not spend 400 years in Egypt they could not have spent 430 years and thus both prophecies must have started at different points and yet ended in the same with the Exodus. Since we have learned that both prophecies ended in the year 2448 A.C. and that this is also the year that the Hebrew sages have calculated......so we press forward to the next time block of information. Next of time blocks for this timeline is found in: 1 Kings 6:1 which states: “ And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of the LORD.” 1Kings 6:1. This passage takes us from the very point where we have left off with the other two prophecies.....The Exodus from Egypt in 2448 A.C. And carries us forward in time 480 more years. This time block takes us to the 4 th year of the reign of King Solomon and the beginning of the building of the First Temple. So the Almighty has given us information to allow us to know exactly when the First Temple began. This is very important because what we shall learn in additional lessons is that God will also use another time block of information to give us a date for the destruction of that same Temple.

2 480 Years After The Exodus. The Year 2928 A.C. The Exodus as we have said was in 2448 A.C. and 480 years after that date was the year 2928 A.C. (2448 + 480 yrs. = 2928 A.C.). This year 2928 A.C. Was the 4 th year of the reign of King Solomon. This passage is very important for without it we would have no sure way of checks and balances to determine when King Solomon began his reign, and thus the rest of the Kings and Judges as well. So this verse gives us a point along our time line where we can now count backwards and forwards with the information given in scripture to locate years in which different Judges and Kings ruled. Example: The year 2928 A.C. Is King Solomon's 4 th year of reign therefore his first year would have been 2924 A.C. And this year 2924 A.C. Would also have been King David's last year of his 40 year reign. This information that allows us to count backwards and learn the first year of the reign of King David. That first year of the reign of King David then would be 2484 A.C. (2924 A.C. - 40 years = 2484 A.C. ). Now let us continue with the information given about the building of The First Temple since this is where the 480 years ended. We are told in 1 st Kings 6:37-38, “ 37 In the fourth year was the foundation of the house of the LORD laid, in the month Zif: 38 And in the eleventh year, in the month Bul, which is the eighth month, was the house finished throughout all the parts thereof, and according to all the fashion of it. So was he seven years in building it.” So again we are told that the foundation of the house was laid in

3 Buidling The First Temple the fourth year of King Solomon's reign, and that it was finished in the eleventh year of his reign taking 7 years to finish the building of the First Temple. Then we are told that King Solomon build his house, The King's Palace for 13 years. “ But Solomon was building his own house thirteen years, and he finished all his house.” 1 Kings 7:1. Both houses were finished at the end of 20 years. ( 7 + 13 = 20 years ). It is the end of this 20 year period that King Solomon intends to dedicate the Temple and before he did so we are told that God appears again unto him a second time. This time God warn King Solomon what will happen to the houses. 1 Kings 9:1 “And it came to pass, when Solomon had finished the building of the house of the LORD, and the king's house, and all Solomon's desire which he was pleased to do, 2 That the LORD appeared to Solomon the second time, as he had appeared unto him at Gibeon. 3 And the LORD said unto him, I have heard thy prayer and thy supplication, that thou hast made before me: I have hallowed this house, which thou hast built, to put my name there for ever; and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually. 4 And if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my statutes and my judgments: 5 Then I will establish the throne of thy kingdom upon Israel for ever, as I promised to David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man upon the throne of Israel.”

4 What Would Happen To The Temple? If King Solomon and the chidren of Israel did not keep HIS Commands and His statutes He told Solomon..... “ 6 But if ye shall at all turn from following me, ye or your children, and will not keep my commandments and my statutes which I have set before you, but go and serve other gods, and worship them: 7 Then will I cut off Israel out of the land which I have given them; and this house, which I have hallowed for my name, will I cast out of my sight; and Israel shall be a proverb and a byword among all people: 8 And at this house, which is high, every one that passeth by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss; and they shall say, Why hath the LORD done thus unto this land, and to this house? 9 And they shall answer, Because they forsook the LORD their God, who brought forth their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and have taken hold upon other gods, and have worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath the LORD brought upon them all this evil. 10 And it came to pass at the end of twenty years, when Solomon had built the two houses, the house of the LORD, and the king's house,” Thus the King was told that if they did not keep The Commands and Statutes of God that these houses would be destroyed. So this was a warning that came to King Solomon in this 20 th year that being the 7 years of building the Temple and the 13 of building the Kings House for a total of 20 years.
