3 Introduction through Activity Who are we? Break into pairs. Each member of the pair should interview his/her colleague to find out: His/her name An aspect of entrepreneurship for which its first letter corresponds to the first letter in his/her name e.g. hardworking Henry, financial Fred, sole proprieter Saleem.. When ready, each member of the pair introduces his/her partner to the rest of the group.

11 TVET Example activity Activity 4.2 Developmental activity This activity seeks to explore the relationship between experience and teaching. This activity should take about 15 minutes. Discuss the following in pairs using mobile technology such as Whatsapp. 1.Share with each other the entrepreneurial skills you think you each possess. 2.Considering the skills you have between you, what additional skills would you need to develop or recruit to start a successful new small business. 3.How would you go about acquiring these additional skills? 4.Now think about these questions again in relation to your teacher-students. How can you teach them in such a way that they develop the full range of entrepreneurial skills they need? 5.What are the alternatives for people who are not entrepreneurially inclined?

12 Employ high quality resources that will balance independent and collaborative learning which embrace the use of new and appropriate technology  Brainstorm and suggest various entrepreneur skills used by the people in your community to earn a living (10 min).  Think of various entrepreneurship skills practised by the people outside your country to earn a living.  Discuss with your partner, a suitable method to teach each of the skills mentioned above.

13 Introduction to TVET skills and Learning resources Group discussion  What are the skills needed in teaching TVET?  What are the various Learning resources used to teach TVET?  How are the learning resources classified?  How can we employ high quality teaching approaches and materials that will balance independent and collaborative learning? Share examples.

14 Learning time Learning time: This averagely takes 40 hours to complete The hours include: contact time, self study, research and assignment

16 Assessment tasks Identify the types of learning resources in the following areas of TVET education:  Automotive engineering  Home economics  Graphic arts  Wood work  Horticulture  Building technology (Refer to the link http://www.wikieducator.org/lesson).
