3 The Mustang Way Come MOTIVATED, prepared & on time. Are UNDERSTANDING to other’s feelings. Exhibit SELF-DISCIPLINE within their actions, attitudes & responses towards adults and peers. Are TRUSTWORTHY to adhere to school expectations.

5 Policies

6 Dress Code Policy Shirts – Uniform shirts must be collared, cotton knit, golf- style shirts and must be white or navy. – Moore hoodies are allowed. – Moore hoodies, t-shirts, sweatshirts and zip-ups are allowed; students may not deface or alter attire. Students may wear only one hoodie at a time. Pants / Slacks – Pants must have inside pockets and be tan or navy. – Pants must be cotton/permanent press. No spandex, nylon, sweatsuits, or denim. – Pants/Slack must be worn at waist level.

7 Dress Code Policy Shorts / Skirts – Shorts/skirts can be worn no shorter than three inches about the kneecap. Sweaters – Style: Waist-length pullovers with banded bottoms are allowed. Only Moore or JCPS logos are permitted. – Must be worn over a regular uniform shirt. – Only white or navy. – No zippers or buttons are allowed.

8 Dress Code Policy Shoes – Any type of shoe may be worn, with the exception of open toed, open backed, sandals, flip-flops, or shower shoes. – No house slippers.

9 Dress Code Policy Spirit Days – Students may wear Moore team shirts/jerseys. – Students not in spirit attire must be in regular uniform. – Students may wear Moore T-shirts, polos, or sweatshirts. – Students may wear blue jeans that are not tattered, torn, or frayed.

10 Dress Code Policy The following items are prohibited: – Gym bags, backpacks, purses. – Caps, hats, hoods, or any other type of headgear. – Scarves, gloves, bandannas, sunglasses, combs, hair curlers. – Coats – Any apparel or accessory that denotes membership in a group. – Hair styles displaying vulgar or indecent symbols. – Drawstring, chain, rope, string, or wire substituted as a belt. – Any item that could be hazardous to students, such as chains, spikes, or studded necklaces. – Tattered, torn, or frayed clothing.

11 Cell Phone Policy All cell phone devices (including ear buds) are to be put away from 7:40 am. – 2:20 pm, unless teacher permission is granted. – 1 st Offense  Receive your cell phone back at the end of the day. – 2 nd Offense  Parent/Guardian must retrieve the cell phone 24 hours after offense. – 3 rd Offense  Parent/Guardian must retrieve the cell phone 30 days after offense. NO CELL PHONES OR EAR BUDS IN THE HALLWAYS!

12 School-Wide Incentives

13 Attendance Incentives Any student with perfect attendance at the end of each week will be entered in a raffle to win a USB drive and school supply! Any student with perfect attendance throughout the entire year will be invited to attend a luncheon and be entered in a raffle to win a variety of prizes.

14 Caught Being Good Incentive Any student that has a “caught being good” ticket submitted by a faculty member each week will be entered in a raffle for a Caught Being Awesome spirit shirt. – Caught Being Good is when a teacher recognizes a student that demonstrates the MUSTANG character traits and completes a “Caught Being Good” ticket for the student. Teachers are encouraged to complete 3 tickets a month.

16 Fire Evacuation Plan Customize these next few slides based upon the procedures listed in the faculty handbook for your classroom.

17 Severe Weather Plan We must try to teach “right” the first time. Nothing can compensate for poor initial instruction.

18 Intruder in the Building TEACH the expectations and procedures. Don’t wait for an emergency situation to try and teach procedures!
