2 A Scotsman, John Logie Baird, transmitted the first television picture on 25 October 1925. The first person on television was a boy who worked in the office next to Baird's workroom in London. In 1927 Baird sent pictures from London to Glasgow. In 1928 he sent pictures to New York and also produced the first colour TV pictures.

3 TV plays an important role in modern life. It is a great force of in entertainment and a powerful mean of information.

4 Thanks to TV people know all news that happen in the world every day. People like news because they want to be informed about current events in our country and abroad.

5 There are a lot of TV programmes such as entertaining and informative programmes, sports round-up, variety show, educational channels.

6 Major people watch TV every day. Different generation watch different programmes. Young people prefer comedies, musical and entertaining channels. Grown-ups prefer soap operas and cultural channel. But all people watch news.

7 TV helps us to be socialized and fully informed. But it has negative sides. People watch TV for all the day and it’s bad for their eyes. Also they see a lot of violence and blood and it influences their behavior.

8 TV has a lot of advertising. It has good and bad sides. On the one hand advertising helps us to choose best products. But on the other hand it doesn’t talk about the product’s defects.
