Problem Develop an apparatus to aid in testing of the coverage pattern of Square D occupancy sensors. Testing in the pre-production phase Used in conjunction with the Robotic Arm Current testing procedure is tedious and inefficient

Objectives Develop the turntable to meet specifications Device ready for testing when project finished Integrate with Robotic Arm

Turntable

System Requirements Capable of ± 90 ° rotation in 1° increments Occupancy sensor 48” above floor Remote control via PC desktop –Interface: RS-232 or USB –Standard ASCII code –Windows Platform Secondary Design to allow vertical rotation of the occupancy sensor

Test Process Outline 1.Turntable will be positioned at a fixed and measured distance from robotic arm 2.Sensor mounted on the test panel (turntable) 3.Sensor will be wired into the power and turntable circuit 4.Turntable will be rotated to desired angle and stopped 5.Robotic arm will be activated to sweep through a 90 ° arc. 6.Data collected and displayed on PC monitor, and optionally saved 7.Turntable will be rotated to a new position and the robotic arm movement detection process repeated.
