3 HEGEMONY Francis Wardle defined hegemony as, “The process by which the dominant culture takes over and shifts the perspective from that of the minority group to the biased perspective of the majority group”(p.44).

4 ENVIRONMENT Depending on the child’s demographic, determined the child’s academic success rate. Higher class society children tend to have more resources. Their parents are more active and proactive in school-related issues. Lower class society children tend to have used resources and their parents are not aware of school related issues, meaning they are not knowledgeable on being active within their child’s school.

5 Twice-Exceptional learners: Students with talents that has a disability. Family Involvement is a huge part of a child’s success. Having a relationship between family, school, and the community increases a child’s chance on being a productive successful citizen.
